We'll be distributing a TBD quantity of LTBcoins to people who are actively contributing to the conversation here pre-launch. The day before we launch, all users who have more than 5 posts and aren't obvious trolls will get an equal portion of the pre-community coins.

So ask any questions, start your own conversations and get in on some of those launch LTB!

Haven't heard what this is all about? Here is is again!

I've changed my tune about altcoins. Not just play money anymore, IMO.

Altcoins with a purpose are different than altcoins because its fun to mine with your graphics card.

I think we're doing a first-of-breed with LTBcoin, it's a coin that powers an ecosystem of content.

Altcoin with a purpose. I love it. GoxCoin has utility and potential too. I'll be watching that :)

Fascinating concept. This may be an interesting way of having something like a price system play a greater role in the 'market for ideas,' in coordinating the production and consumption of ideas / in bringing supply and demand together.

Will have to think more about whether the LTB Network would or is likely to function more as a market or more as a firm, or whether it is a different kind of animal.

I believe the LTB network will be more like a firm, and that it will interact with other firms both as peers (other content creation networks) and partners (content distribution protocols).

So content that is funded with LTBcoin could be distributed via the ContentCoin network and compete against all other pieces of content from both the LTB network and other for the newly issued ContentCoins by trying to get as many people as possible to maintain a copy of their content on their personal harddrive, which then makes up a vast and very fast content distribution network.

It truly is a brave new world in front of us.

Thanks for all the responses so far, my other question is: what can you redeem for LTBCoin? Aside from its fiat-based correlation later on, what did you have in mind for say 100000 LTBC? Can you redeem them for advertising time? For schwag? It's a very neat idea, I suspect other hosts/editors will watch this use-case to see how it develops.

Tejano, I think the answer is, yes, yes, and whatever you can get for them...?

I would bet LTBcoin will be on Cryptsy not long after it's issued.
