I tried explaining to my wife what Bitcoin was as well as the world of Cryptocurrency and I could tell her mind was blown! Now does that mean she couldn't use Bitcoin to make purchases? Not at all, like anyone of us, male or female I think it just takes some practical experience to get used to us and figure out how it fits into our daily routine. I think when we see more websites using a reward system for currency we might see women becoming used to using Bitcoin as a part of their daily life.

@1446721287 Is this only a Man's world?
when cryptocurrencies become as "cool" (and easy-to-use) as social networking, girls (and everyone else) will jump on board.
Was that comment intentionally sexist or just completely oblivious?
I didn't mean to be insulting at all so I apologize if I came off like that. I'm only speaking from my own experience. it's tough to get people into bitcoin when it's still in an early stage.. most people don't know about it, and don't seem interested in learning. but when it becomes easy enough to use, more people will jump on, then they finally start using it & talking about it. and it's been the same way for a lot of other tech advances, they all started out as niches. I haven't been a part of most of them.. but it's interesting to see bitcoin as it is now, a misunderstood advancement in financial technology. Most peoples' reactions are un- or under-educated, but hopefully that will improve as it gets easier to use & gets wider adoption.
I know what you meant and I know you didn't mean any offense. I just think it is wrongheaded to imply that things have to be dumbed down for women more than for men. Most people value convenience highly, not just women. It is in the nature of humans to take the path of least resistance.
I think a big reason there aren't more women using and working on cryptocurrencies is because of the pervasive sexism among "techies." Any female who has ever played online games (not casual Facebook games but real games, like World of Warcraft or Call of Duty or something) knows exacly what I am talking about.

so yeah there's probably a lot of ignorance for you to wade through. I don't hang out with many 'gamer geek' types.. we don't have much in common to begin with. it must get kind of annoying, lol..
