I can concede to a snake draft. It's easier and most everyone is familiar with it. I say we keep the rules as close to the Yahoo defaults as possible for a head-to-head league (makes it a lot easier for me to create the league :P).
Championship on Week 16 is good for me (I think that's a default).
@necrix Id prefer snake draft as well, it's quick, fair and consistent. The highest point total of the year award is kinda silly imo, since it's just sheer luck. How about the highest point total of all weeks combined wins award. I understand wanting to keep it competitive late season but honestly a team comish that gave up can still win the highest point total with an idle team.
I see your point regarding the highest point total of year, but you hit the nail on the head with your last sentence. The whole reason for that reward is its attainable for anyone so it should motivate people even if they feel like giving up after a few bad weeks.
Here's something to consider as an alternative...
@adam generously committed 50,000 LTBc to the pool if we can find a creative way to use it. We could use that to reward the highest score each week. One of the big advantages using Counterparty assets to represent teams is that we can easily payout dividends each week to the top scoring team.
We could compromise between @necrix and @therealtwig by adding 20,000 LTBc to what Adam committed and use that 70,000 LTBc to payout the highest point total each week. The remaining 50,000 LTBc can go to the highest combined total for the season.
This puts the total pool at 260,000 LTBc (15,000 X 14 + 50,000 from Adam).
- 125,000 payout to the League Championship winner
- 15,000 payout to the League Championship runner-up
- 50,000 payout to the highest combined point total for season
- 5,385 per week (70,000 total) for the highest score each week during the regular season (13 weeks)
awesome, sounds good to me. Yahoo! defaults are what I find the best anyway. I guess the only troublesome part would be coordinating the draft.
