    and with the addition of

    @scipio @silvergoldandbitcoin @roadwarriors

This puts us at 14, which shouldn't be a problem.

I'm thinking a league fee of 10,000 LTBc per team which is right around $20. It's enough skin in the game for each manager to have incentive to remain active throughout the season. I also prefer a winner take all style as opposed to smaller payouts for 2nd and 3rd place but I'm open for discussion.

Let me know if the league fee is reasonable and I'll move forward with posting instructions on how this is all going to work.

I like the buy in but have a proposal for an addition to the buy in. I have been part of another fantasy league for the past several years where we really had to fight inactivity late, especially when owners had a poor record. Therefore, we instituted part of the buy in dedicated to a winner take all side pot for the highest scoring week of the season. Everyone has had incentive to win something, therefore everyone has put their best effort in each week since then, regardless of record.

How about a 10,000 + 5,000 LTBc buy in across 14 teams with the following payout distribution:

    • 130,000 LTBc to the winner.
    • 10,000 LTBc to the runner up (get your buy in back).
    • 70,000 LTBc to the owner that has the highest scoring week during the fantasy regular season.

There, of course, will need to be more discussion over type of league....auction or standard. My vote honestly would be standard snake draft (ABCDDCBA...etc), standard scoring in a head-to-head league with the following positions:

    • QB
    • RB
    • RB
    • WR
    • WR
    • FLEX
    • K
    • DST
    • BENCH X6

    What do you guys think?

70k LTBCoin for the highest scorer of the season??? Very cleaver idea for keeping everyone interested all the way through. Never heard of that before but I kind of like it. I think I'll even throw it out to my current league for a vote. So, ya, I'm down with that.

Sounds good to me so far. What about draft date? I was thinking around Aug 28 - Sept 3 (After preseason game 3 but before opening night). Also what length where you thinking for the regular (FFT) season. I'm not a big fan when the post season runs into week 17 and all your players are off the field. But hey, thats part of the strategy.

I'm with @jeffski1 and @scipio, sounds like a great way to keep all teams involved throughout the season. Unless there are any objections, lets plan to move forward with this payout model.

This sets the league fee at 15,000 LTBc per team.

I'm putting the finishing touches on a portal I put together for league which will have the League Address where league fees will be sent. Once its ready, I'll post it here on this thread.

I actually prefer an auction draft. I did it for the first time in a league last year and in my opinion it's a lot fairer since everyone starts off on equal footing and you can bid on any player you want. I can live with a snake draft if that's what everyone else wants to do, but I recommend doing a couple mock auction drafts on Yahoo if you're hesitant about it and have never done one.

Auction works well for me too! I suggested snake because it is generally the kindest to all levels of experience with fantasy football, but as you said, auction has a lot of cool strategy and can be just a blast for drafting!

If we did do auction, would we also have FAAB$ (Free Agent Acquisition Bucks) for acquiring free agents during the regular season? For those that don't know, FAAB$ are used in a weekly silent auction to acquire free agents during the regular season. So instead of a "first come first serve" system for free agents, all league owners have a budget to start out the year with funds (say 200 FAAB$) to acquire free agents. When you spend all your FAAB$, you cannot participate in the weekly auctions any more and have to hope a free agent you wanted to pick up slipped through the auction. I think FAAB may be standard in yahoo auction leagues, but I am not 100% sure.

If we did roll out FAAB, something fun that could also influence auction draft strategy is that unused draft $ get rolled over into a teams FAAB$ for the season. So if I didn't want to use up all my auction draft dollars in the hopes of overbidding for a hot shot free agent during the year that came out of nowhere, I could have a conservative draft strategy. Vice versa if I didn't believe free agents was a good way to build my team during the regular season.

    Thoughts?

Auction takes too long IMO. I'd prefer snake draft.

Never did auction type before but I am up for anything at least once, twice if I like it. :) Any limits on bench like only 3 QB's on a roster? Can always go with the Yahoo standards.

The 15k buy in sounds good to me. Will be nice to have all that LBTC in my bank when the season is over. :)

Any thoughts that we pay out 1-3 place? With this many teams it would keep things interesting and 3rd place can get their buy-in back. 2nd a little more and the bulk of it going to first place. Should start the playoffs a few weeks before reg season ends so our starts don't sit the bench if they are on a team that has it locked up.

The only other thing that ALWAYS cause issues is pick-ups on waiver and free agents. Need to come together on that and we will be good.

Id prefer snake draft as well, it's quick, fair and consistent. The highest point total of the year award is kinda silly imo, since it's just sheer luck. How about the highest point total of all weeks combined wins award. I understand wanting to keep it competitive late season but honestly a team comish that gave up can still win the highest point total with an idle team.

Hey @loon3 @therealtwig, i'll kick in 50k for an additional prize if you can come up with a creative way to use it.

snake draft is the best, but it might be hard to get everybody together at the same time.

I agree... it should be timed so that the final round of our playoffs coincides with week 16 of the NFL, that way real life players are not benched for rest during fantasy championship games

I can concede to a snake draft. It's easier and most everyone is familiar with it. I say we keep the rules as close to the Yahoo defaults as possible for a head-to-head league (makes it a lot easier for me to create the league :P).

Championship on Week 16 is good for me (I think that's a default).

@necrix Id prefer snake draft as well, it's quick, fair and consistent. The highest point total of the year award is kinda silly imo, since it's just sheer luck. I see your point regarding the highest point total of year, but you hit the nail on the head with your last sentence. The whole reason for that reward is its attainable for anyone so it should motivate people even if they feel like giving up after a few bad weeks.

Here's something to consider as an alternative...

@adam generously committed 50,000 LTBc to the pool if we can find a creative way to use it. We could use that to reward the highest score each week. One of the big advantages using Counterparty assets to represent teams is that we can easily payout dividends each week to the top scoring team.

We could compromise between @necrix and @therealtwig by adding 20,000 LTBc to what Adam committed and use that 70,000 LTBc to payout the highest point total each week. The remaining 50,000 LTBc can go to the highest combined total for the season.

This puts the total pool at 260,000 LTBc (15,000 X 14 + 50,000 from Adam).

    • 125,000 payout to the League Championship winner
    • 15,000 payout to the League Championship runner-up
    • 50,000 payout to the highest combined point total for season
    • 5,385 per week (70,000 total) for the highest score each week during the regular season (13 weeks)
