@loon3 I like it....100 feels like a good number, especially for the market that will be involved.

Cool, they'll probably have to be auctioned in blocks to make it worth the transaction fee.

Valuing the tokens should be interesting, here's a back of the napkin look at what an "average" team token might be worth...

Take 1/100th of each payout and the average odds of winning (1/12) ...

    • Championship Winner: 1,250 LTBc
    • Championship Runner-up: 150 LTBc
    • Highest Total Points: 401 LTBc
    • Weekly High Score: 40 LTBc x (12 weeks remaining)

    Average Token Winnings = (1250 + 150 + 401 + 40x12) x 1/12 = 190 LTBc

@loon3 This adds a brand new layer to fantasy decision making as a team owner, and I couldn't love it any more. Assuming the average token winning values you scratched out, an owner would have to give up 80 of their team tokens at that auction value to match their buy in for the season of 15,000 LTBc. This of course, assumes the market would bear that price for the owner.

Tokenizing a team gives owners options, and adds a completely new layer to the game.

I wonder if the market will take a "buy low, sell high" attitude, or put a lot of their eggs in one basket with teams that have have done well these past few weeks.

    Very interesting!

If an owner sells 80% of his potential winnings, what is his motivation to make good decisions regarding his team? I think this is an important aspect to consider as an outsider buying a team token. At some point, the manager is no longer vested. Even more interesting is it doesn't necessarily have to be 50% since the tokens only represent a share of future winnings and not a controlling interest in the team.

It's not that I believe an owner would actually do this as it would be highly irrational. Just adding a marker out there for consideration.

It is of course entirely possible that at auction even something as low as 25% of a well performing team's tokens could go for 15,000 LTBc. We shall see.

Obviously this is not possible currently, but I kind of think it would be cool if the access to make decisions about a team and its roster in this kind of structure was locked by the majority token holder for that team. Maybe someone who sees a "fixer upper" team makes a good offer on its majority stake and "flips" the team into a contender. Everyone is happy, right!

The sign message feature really needs to be working in Counterwallet to incorporate any features that require establishing ownership of a particular address which holds a majority of the team asset.

Once it is, all I need from a commissioner perspective is an email address and I can transfer control of the team. Ideally, the new owner would send me the email (through some sort of portal on the league page) then sign a message containing their email address with the address controlling the majority stake.

There would need to be some rules (ownership to change only once per week, before that week's games begin, etc.) but I think it could definitely work.

I just sent the following message out to all team managers (@adam you might find this interesting)...

    --

Some of you may have noticed, but you now each hold 100 tokens of your team asset. These tokens represent a stake in future winnings of your team (they do not represent controlling interest, so even if you sold all of them you are still responsible for managing your team).

For example, if you sell 20 tokens and retain 80 for yourself then you will only receive 80% of all future winnings (top score of the week, league champion, etc.) and the other 20% will be paid proportionally to the address(es) that hold the other 20 tokens. You can also choose to simply hold all the tokens yourself.

For conflict of interest reasons, I haven't issued any additional tokens for my team (FFLTEAMA).
