Re: The Multiwallet is out on Testnet! Hop in the chat, I'll see you on the DEX
No. As you'll notice, test net addresses don't start with a '1' like normal Bitcoin addresses. It's a completely different network with it's own miners.
And coins sent. This must be the fastest response time ever :)Posted on March 26, 2014 at 9:57 PM

Re: DEVELOPER REQUESTED for MVP: Pay-To-Display service
JahPowerBit has just joined the Counterparty dev team, so we can probably expect to see more progress soon.

Re: "Counter-tip" reddit tip bot idea
Adam said: I'm not a big fan of tipbots, but I know many people are. I'm sure there would be demand for this but they are inherently insecure unless the tips are routed to real addresses instead of tipbot controlled ones. The tipbot idea worked very well to help get Doge off the ground and could potentially do well for LTBcoin, especially when it is flowing freely in the early days.
The reddit bitcoin tipbot is maintained by NerdfighterSean, so @cryptonaut, you might want to send him a PM and ask for any advice and if the code is open source.Posted on March 26, 2014 at 7:21 PM

1DwuadRfmH8TcaFjhtmernMVtLmAn16qF2That's a real bitcoin address on main net. Right now, we're still trying out the system on the test net. Grab a wallet at https://testnet.counterwallet.co/ and post your testnet address. You'll also need to grab some test BTC from a testnet faucet like https://tpfaucet.appspot.com/
I just sent some LTBCOINTEST to the following:

cedesl0v
bosman
puck2
zero_fiat

Re: Project Needing Developers: Clone of http://helpmewrite.co/ powered by LTBcoin
The "User Voice" idea is probably the one the LTB network needs most, in order to provide content that is highly-relevant to what users want and help the network grow in the right direction. At the same time, it would be great to be the ones to come up with the first "Kickstarter" on steroids for cryprocurrencies (because making dividends easy and accessible seriously ups the game IMHO).
I think at this point I'll step aside for a little and see what Adam and everyone else thinks.Posted on March 26, 2014 at 5:05 PM

slashbinslashbash said:Yes, but assuming that some people want to trade the coins immediately for BTC, then what we will see is a super-high price the first week, and a lowering price every week thereafter. (Because presumably people will want to buy advertisements the first week, thus creating a market.) Of course, I guess we see this with all new altcoins; supply is limited at first so the price is sky-high, and then it dwindles down. Hmm, interesting. I hope that's not how things play out...-CC
If people want to cash out to BTC, that would tend to push the price down, not up. The problem will be if everyone decides to hold, though I doubt the price of LTBcoin will be "sky high" unless we see a large influx of speculators. I expect that sponsorships will initially be priced in BTC, though payable in LTBcoin, which will take out the risk for sponsors. (Those are just my thoughts.) Everyone else holding LTBcoin because they believe in it long term should probably get ready for a bit of volatility at first and keep in mind that the price doesn't matter at all at the early stages.Posted on March 26, 2014 at 4:49 PM

Re: Project Needing Developers: Clone of http://helpmewrite.co/ powered by LTBcoin
Both a kickstarter-like platform and an idea proposal platform will be ultimately great and relevant projects, and they could be developed separately or as two sides of the same coin.
A Kickstarter-like project will arguably be more suitable (or at least more popular) if it accepted payment in BTC (there could be an LTBcoin clone too), as it would be geared towards all sorts of projects and not just content. In this case, the project owner would be able to issue an asset on Counterparty and sell shares in the project in return for financial support, later paying dividends when there are profits (instead of handing out Kickstarter rewards).
The other project as originally described also has its use because it saves writers and content creators a lot of trouble and especially because it gives the audience a voice. It could start small and then work up, in terms of the complexity of ideas that can be proposed, in order to make it simpler to match ideas. Another way around the issue is that producers can make proposals on how they plan to tackle the idea they choose and this is accepted or rejected by community vote. Try and think in terms of ODesk or iFreelance, except that the community votes for the ideas it wants, funds them, and decides if the work turned in is up to par.
I agree that the person who proposed the idea would get a relatively tiny portion of the funds that come in, compared to the producer.Posted on March 26, 2014 at 2:56 PM

deweller said: After chewing on it for a while, I can't shake the feeling that the person proposing the idea should be the one responsible for bringing it to life.
Content creators will be able to propose ideas and test the waters, but this is about much more than that. The idea as I understand it is to create a marketplace where anyone can propose a topic they are interested in learning more about and then have experts come in and fulfill the request if it is popular enough.
Say I am a musician who has recently heard of Bitcoin and want to try selling my new album for BTC. I would post a request for an article that covers the ins and outs of that. Maybe I could suggest some points I would like to see covered, such as what's the best wallet to use, how to integrate Bitcoin into my website, the best places to advertise my music to bitcoiners, and so on. Then, someone who feels they are knowledgeable enough in the relevant areas will come in and put all the information together and produce the piece.Posted on March 26, 2014 at 12:33 PM
