I'm a professional PHP developer of 14+ years looking to get involved with the LTBcoin project.  I've written some web applications in PHP that interface with ripple wallets and bitcoin-based altcoin daemons.
I'm not a fan of monolithic web frameworks either.  I typically go with Silex for the routing framework and pull in composer packages as needed.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Thanks deweller, will keep you in mind for sure

I wonder how Reddit secures their Reddcoin tip bot to prevent hackers from manipulating the balances?

isnt reddcoin not actually owned endorsed by reddit at all?

thats true. not too sure how well it would catch on either, most people dont understand bitcoin let alone blockchain assets lol, but it could be interesting. idk, just throwing the idea out there if someone wants it. I could see one being created fairly easy, since there is already a ton of tipping bots, not sure if any are open source though.

  • "Counter-tip" reddit tip bot idea

Basically exact same thing as the reddit bitcoin (or dogecoin or whichever) tipping bot, except with counterparty assets. Could be cool, no?

Good luck in your entrepreneurial endeavors!

Are you at liberty to disclose the kind of software you are using to create the new version of LetsTalkBitcoin.com?  Will you use a CMS such as Drupal, Wordpress or Joomla? Or will you use a framework such as Laravel, Phalcon or Symphony2.  Will you use a non-PHP language, etc.

    Thanks!
I won't be using any of the cookie cutter (and imo, not very good) CMS's like Drupal Wordpress or Joomla. Building a custom CMS using a light weight in-house built MVC framework (framework was made by me but not specifically for this project) - yes it's in PHP (and no its not spaghetti code lol). I am trying to build it in such a way that makes it relatively easy to program in new features or modify existing features, since from the sounds of it this is going to be a constantly evolving system, as opposed to getting frustrated hacking away at a beast with terrible code standards i.e wordpress :)
Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions

no, we are building a custom system

sounds like a glorified version of those sites where you supposedly get paid for doing surveys and stuff. Except this would actually work :p I like it

Let's say a 1000-word blog post gets sent to the "new section", where it sloshes around a few, then admin gives it a go and makes it public, are we talking about timeline of hours or days? Some content is obviously time-sensitive, so the crawling/peer-review/admin-filtering shouldn't take very long, or am I missing the point here?

I think there are several levels - There is Editorial approval which is about quality, but keep in mind that since you just earn POP and not LTBcoins when you publish, there is going to be some time after it is published but before you get the LTBcoins for the work.  During that time is the window for the audience to curate it and do post-publishing filtering.
Does that make sense?   I think that allows us to just judge objective quality, trust that they are "right" and let the audience pillory anyone who is caught breaking the rules because they profit from it.

This would be a good way yes. I think writers should have to go through some sort of a short approval process before being even able to write though. Like just submitting a peice of their work or something or just talking to them. That way we dont have random people signing up and spamming and other such nonsense.
