One other idea I had was that audience members could be given the option to browse free content as usual (receive no LTBcoin) or opt to become a premium (paid) member and the membership fee would include receiving a certain number of LTBcoin (based around or below market value at the time).Oh I like this a LOT
Proof of Support, basically you buy time-specified premium memberships that essentially let you stretch any amount of value over a long period of time, and there is a daily pool from which all people who are members on that day split the amount of LTBcoin relative to how much value they put in.
So you could have people who put in 1BTC for a single day so they can get a large chunk on that day, or 1BTC over a month where a smaller amount is granted over a longer period of time. I'm not sure how the logistics of this would work, but basically the more people who subscribe the the more the service should be worth and the less LTBcoins are given to each person. Does that wreck the model because it means people won't want others to become members since it dillutes the pool?
Anyhow, I really like the idea - Great contribution.Posted on March 9, 2014 at 8:19 PM

Re: How many total LTBcoins should there be?
I used to think all the mysticism stuff was hooey. I am religiously agnostic, never been a part of my life and I've always been very very skeptical. The last few years have convinced me that even if I don't understand, it's still helpful for perspective. Tools are tools.
Good luck talking to people about that who don't get it though, a great way for them to think you're nuts :)Posted on March 9, 2014 at 8:12 PM

Re: LTBcoin Launch Day Distribution
I don't disagree, i'm just saying that if LTB does that then it sorta implies we're selling something, when if we don't fundraise in that way we are not. Even though this is clearly not an IPO, even using "IPO style fundraiser" has potential unintended consequences in a world where regulators do not understand what we are doing.

DACIndex.com Metacoins, Crypto 2.0 and User Created Asset Index
http://dacindex.com
Part one of this two part project is out in minimum-viable-product form. Tracks all 2.0 metacoins right now using CoinMarketCap data, we're moving towards custom metrics and figuring our the best way to determine an index price. I'm thinking it might be market cap / 1,000,000 BUT with coins like XRP and NXT in there you can't really do anything by market cap because their volume is soooooooooooo low relative since most of the coins are held in few hands and don't trade.Posted on March 9, 2014 at 8:05 PM

Re: Cryptocurrencies & Gaming
Logan said: The problem is that the game has to work in step with the block chain. So at best you are looking at turn based games where you can set several moves in advance. I think it is coming down the line.
You're not thinking in color :) What about a game where the game keeps track and builds a list for distribution of people who conduct whatever action in the game you want to incentivize, then every block you distribute it to the player accounts divided by their occurrences of the desired action(s) in the time period.

Re: Metacoins! Here's what I've got, which ones am I missing? Whats your favorite?
Can you explain eMunie to me? I know they use hatchers instead of mining which basically is like collaborative mining, hatchers sign transactions and pass them on, and once everybody signs them it means they're accepted. Why do you like it? What do you think of the development team? What do you think of the fundraiser as proposed?

Re: The Proof of Publishing Protocol
I'm very open to this line of thinking and have gone down the path myself. The Proof of Publishing point system is an unelegant solution to a problem I've not yet been able to overcome. We are building a custom content management system and have a lot of control over how the platform works because of it, so lets talk this out.

Re: LTBCoin and the start of Private Network Tokens
Excellent question - I am still finishing the protocol, for the first year of the project these auction funds will go to the LTB Network, and a large portion of the newly created content coins are distributed based on the revenue generated by show sponsorships relative to how much each show/blog brings in. For at least the first year, the distribution should be much larger than sponsor revenues.
Year two, this is 50% new coins and 50% sponsor funds, By the end of year 3 it's 100% sponsor funds, and the network switches to a "slots" model where we have a limited amount of space on the network to release content and people who produce content buy the space from the network. Keep in mind this is a transition that happens in year three, so it's not only still under development but quite a ways off.
The funds will be split between bounties for R&D, growing the partner network and LTB corporate profit since we don't actually get any of the first distribution as profit.
This is still very much in flux.Posted on March 9, 2014 at 7:35 PM

Re: How else should the Audience "Mine" LTB? - Proof of Tip and Proof of Comment
I met with a guy named Adam who is working on a content distribution side of this that solves a lot of the "proof of distribution" problems you immediately run into once you start walking down that path. He's local and knows I want to work with him on his project, I see it as a natural extension of what we're doing here.
