An easy to use GUI is key. Google made the internet accessible to everyone with easy to use GUIs. The first metacoin to do that is going to have a huge advantage.
I hold PTS, NXT, MSC, NMC and PPC.
Can't wait to see how the landscape changes in the coming months!

An Excellent review of all 2.0 projects + very flattering words on counterparty. Published March 4th.

I have LTC only. Looking into mastercoin and namecoin. I think the vast majority of alt coins will trail off leaving half a dozen stron crypto currencies

I own XCP and I believe it will be huge unless, like you said, someone steals their idea and implements it in a much better fashion. A decentralized trustless exchange would be a dream come true though. I believe it's completely possible to trade between two different coins if the exchange uses a similar model to Counterparty, however, it will be almost impossible with coin-to-fiat trading so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I would say that emunie should be on there but it isn't out yet. I have tried the beta and it is fantastic.

Can you explain eMunie to me? I know they use hatchers instead of mining which basically is like collaborative mining, hatchers sign transactions and pass them on, and once everybody signs them it means they're accepted. Why do you like it? What do you think of the development team? What do you think of the fundraiser as proposed?

RE: XRP distribution
www.computingforgood.org
is just one of the ways they're getting rid of XRP.
They can be looked at as a speculative investment, but are more valuable for their utility on the network as an anti-spam mechanism and bridge currency for market makers.0 likes -

I like Counterparty(XCP) because it has a working product and is trading at a discount compared to Mastercoin.
That being said all of the 2nd Generation projects - XCP, MSC, PTS etc... are worthwhile investments.

At the moment I don't own any other coins expept litecoin. In my opinion the network effect of Bitcoin will be so huge that others will have a hard time to get some value behind it. Something that is bases on top of bitcion may be the only way to go. I might start researching more in these areas to see what has potential.

That would solve a bunch of my complaints.
