I think shortened URL's should be outright banned on this forum. There are far to many scams and phishing sites out there that are bitcoin related.

    This one should be easy:

Make it so if the server finds a double post, it deletes that post automatically, and if there are 5 duplicates, ban the user's ip. That should help with some spam I find, that grows too fast.

    Here is another one:

Make it so that if the user does not post real words that are in the dictionary, ban them.

Great idea, I hate seeing shortened links around here. I also hate seeing users click them!

so we should auto ban people for typos or making up words? What about names and slang / jargon etc. which are not actually words in a dictionary? That seems like an awful idea.

Well, definitely good intentions, just there would be unintended consequences, due to situations that weren't thought of… Seems that's often a problem… Even with your suggestion about posting links more than once, at first I liked that idea, but then I realized that several threads could ask a question, and the answer might be a link. So a good might post the link each time he sees the question. If the limitation was implemented, the helpful person couldn't answer the question (and might get banned). Meanwhile, clever bad actors might use redirects to get around the limitation. Interesting problems, though difficult to figure them out!

I wonder if there could be a token-based system that somehow helps? Not sure how… It would be cool to figure something out!

In the posting link twice idea, I meant twice in the same thread.
