I like the idea but at the same time I think it would create too much of a barrier for new people. If I had to jump through a bunch of hoops just to join it takes away from the (at least in my mind) purpose of LTBc. While it would help weed out some of the spam, all listeners should have an equal opportunity to get LTBc no matter how long they have been listening.

I think it is a delicate balance and whatever system is in place should not hinder people from wanting to be a part of the network. This is why I suggested offering LTBc as a reward for such a educational questionnaire, perhaps equivalent to what a person would have earned anyway in LTBc from posting junk posts. No matter what, I think incentivizing the right behavior is key, and completely agree with your points about wanting to create equal opportunities.

One thing I would like to see is a stop to the posting of other sites full articles. I'm not saying these aren't good articles but I read these on the other sites and I feel these people are simply posting them here to get their post count up.

same for me, i can help in italian subforum or some other english sections, i don't mind helping the community!

another idea that would be great to implement but i guess it will take a lot of work to put in place, is to use +1 (and add -1) for each post as sort of "post reputation" and set up a treshold for the spamming post, below the treshold post wont be shown (for example, league of legends forum, if a post is below the treshold disappear from the topic). This automatically will save some time to helpers/moderator.

Anyone notice that there are a lot of posts that basically just constantly say "i do not understand this" or "what does this link mean?" ...? Hard to tell if they are genuinely confused about something or just posting nonsense and not even bothering to read the link or original thread. Im guessing the latter..

The Flag/Report system with good moderation should work, especially if people see it in their interest to use it. Maybe that needs more attention?

Yes, and I have questioned if "Googleing for them" is helping or not. So far I've leaned toward helping, but I feel as if I and the system are being gamed. More and more the post seem to be about how to make LTBc and sell it than actually benefiting the community discussions.

We've just been discussing that posts that get deleted will get you NEGATIVE PoP and a loss of LTBc. That's very easy to implement.

We might make a post about it when it's up, or we might not. Let anyoneone who is spamming consider themselves warned.
