I've got another question about the distribution of LTBcoin. For example say the initial release of LTBcoin goes perfectly as planned and all the recipients are happy with their coins. As a part of the audience community I get 1 LTBcoin the first week. Then theoretically the coin takes off and the price per coin increases dramatically. Would you change the scale of distribution based on the coins exchange value? Basically what I am asking is if the coins are worth 1BTC each would you still distribute them in the same manner over the entire scope of the 5 year release? It just seems ridiculous to me that you would hand out say $1000 to someone in the audience.Nope, once the rules are in place those are the rules. I'm fine with someone in the early audience winding up with a good profit from their time spent with LTB.
Me too!

I have witnessed something quite amazing which has given me increased enthusiasm with what you guys are creating here. There is an altcoin call Coin2 which is 100% premined and given away in various promotions. A month ago i 'liked' the coin2 page on facebook and posted my address and was awarded 48,000 free coins as was my wife. I checked the value against bittrex.org and was shocked to see that those promotional coins where now worth 1.6BTC! I now firmly believe that this coin is going to do exceptionally well and have to congratulate you guys on your novel approach.Great job!

Darn it.... I missed the first episode of Lets Talk Bitcoin, I wonder how much that will turn out to have costed me in a year or two. $10 000? :-(
Nah just kidding.... ;-)

I'll be keeping a close eye on this, makes perfect sense really.

I think that this distribution method seems quite fair. Proof of Contribution, in some way, even though it's hard to measure contribution from one individual, let alone compare it between individuals doing wildly different things (posting in the forum vs. creating audio content). But it's your show, and this kind of a proprietary crypto-currency is really a new thing in the world AFAIK. You're providing the value (letting the coin be exchanged for advertising, which you were presumably previously selling for other currencies) so it makes sense for you to decide the distribution, even if it's arbitrary. I don't see any fair-er way of doing it than to simply give it away to practically any Joe off the street (such as myself) who can be bothered to make a few forum posts, and to the people who create the content for your network.

I think at the outset the proof algorithms will not matter that much since there is 0 value to the coins (intentionally) and the expected value is probably low in the medium term. There will time to develop the algorithms to be more robust as the coin gains value...much like the security of the bitcoin network itself had time to develop as it gained value. It went smoothly because it was a first mover and didn't have massive pools of miners (or in the case of ltbcoin, spammers) with their sights set on it.

@adam, any thoughts on this question from above?Shatteredzen said:Is there a plan yet on how everyone will get an address before the distribution?
Specifically, what are yall thinking about the actual logistics of 1) address collection, 2) duplicate detection (one individual having 100 addresses), and 3) asset distribution?-CC0 likes
