  @coinshot Theres too much hype about it and it is difficult to find out how good it really is. Would like to listen to a podcast where they argue if it is worth the investment.

  there has been a lot of talk about etherium all over the net, and yes it's hard to tell whether it's just hype or it's a real thing. as of now, they have $5mil in funding (~8000btc), and there are 36 days left in the crowdsale. so they're in the same position that maidsafe is in.. everyone is waiting (im?)patiently to see if they deliver, and how well they deliver. only time will tell, but then.. the crowdsale will be long over. so you have to take a chance.

  I am in for a small amount. I consider this as funding the crypto space. I want to encourage biodiversity ;-)

  The ideas behind Ethereum seduce me a lot.

  We'll see what happens. Investing in Ethereum is like investing in bitcoin, both a gamble and the will to be part of the future.

  The hype is incredible. Go over to reddit and you will see comments almost worshipping Buterin and co.

  I will probably put 1-2 btc in towards the end of the initial 2000 ether allocation. I'm hoping to time it with the decline in btc pricing to get the best bang for my coins.

  There are different opinions about Ethereum, I'm still undecided if I should invest or not in it. I think Ethereum isn't a scam at all but I don't know if it will be profitable.

  @wassup I think people who do, do it for: 1) Ethereum dev support and/or 2) securing ether for development. 2) is pretty clear, but 1) mostly relates on your relationship with philanthropy.
