@thebitcoincpa BTC Consumption in an interesting inquiry therefore I decided to chime in. I am currently on a self-guided MBA program with bitcoin almost completely immersing myself to the point of spending nearly 50% of my time if I include all of my thought energy. It's basically all I think about.

Also keep in mind that I am writing a book called The Ultimate Bitcoin Business Guide for Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses which has turned into a massive undertaking. I am so committed to the project that I have to think about bitcoin constantly to get this project done.

I think its a healthy obsession. Its seems like I never been more excited about something in my entire life than bitcoin and all its possibilities. Also my intention is to turn the 50% of my time into 100% of my time focused on crypto related projects.

That's all for now Kirk out.

That is awesome that you are working on a book! I'd love to chat with you on Coin Fire sometime if that is cool!

That is the way I look at it as well, it is certainly a healthy obsession. We aren't all hopped up on meth or something crazy. We are talking about a revolutionary piece of technology that is capable of changing the world in so many ways. I think that is a wonderful thing!

When you consider how much free time you actually have in the day, I dont understand how someone could think of learning something new could be seen as anything other than beneficial. Learning and being engaged in a new technological breakthrough puts you way ahead of the curve. Even if its listening to podcasts while you drive, there's always SOME sort of time that you have that can be used to better yourself.

@angrycanuck I could easily take 50% of my day with it, the entirety of the BTC and offshoots is HUGE. However I try and limit myself to

It is one of those things you can easily find yourself spending a lot of time on.

It is sort of like when I goto Wikipedia and start with one article. As I am reading the article I find myself opening up new ones in additional tabs behind the scenes to also read those when I am done reading the current one, I move on to the next tab and the next thing I know I have like twenty open and just keep going down this rabbit hole for a while!

Bitcoin does certainly consume my time, but in an indirect fashion. It is mostly my husband who listens to podcasts and reads blog posts about it, and then he proceeds to relay all the information to me. So 90% of our conversations are about Bitcoin.

@cyberclones When I first got into bitcoin I spent 100% of my time the first 7 days or so reading everything I could find on bitcoins then I found out that there were these things called altcoins so that took some time as I wanted to learn all about all of them(I had a lot of free time last summer as I had taken it as I wanted a break before going back to school in the fall). I was able to ween myself off of it slowly over the summer to the point that when sept came I was only spending about 20% of my free time on it.

Now since I'm not as inclined to chase every new altcoin that is coming out and have dialed in the projects I want to follow I would guess I spend about 1-2 hours a day reading what I can however I have managed to go a couple of days without checking whats new a couple of times too.

I think it is safe to say that it is quite exciting especially in the beginning!

I have found that my time is still fluctuating just over 10 - 14 hours a day working on Bitcoin related projects so it is still pretty consuming for me but that is down from when I started and literally every minute that I wasn't sleeping was dedicated to Bitcoin and the alt coins.
