Hey guys/gals, my name is Matt and I've been studying bitcoin behind the scenes since it's 2010. I'm a materials scientist, UI/UX designer and entrepreneur. I formally worked as a process engineer specializing in the development of thin film material.

In a recent former life I worked in a team of two to develop a hybrid social network that combined core attributes of twitter and facebook into a localized network. Unfortunately, the idea never took as it happens with most social startups. Since then I've spent a large amount of my time studying cryptocurrencies and the problems we need to solve in order to eliminate friction in adoption. I feel the world needs easier ways to mine cryptographic currencies that are outside of computational mining, which is what has led me to LTBcoin.

  • Should LTBcoin forum have a sub-category for discussing nothing but new Proof of Work concepts?

    https://etherpad.mozilla.org/Vt3hMwxh2t

Given this organization needs to perform autonomously I think we need to determine what are the most effective models for distributing currencies.

All of which require development effort and make the system seem more complex at an early stage. I like to get a list so we can run a poll with group in order to satifisy everyones thoughts and determine the loose structure of how we will incentivize participation in the network. So please add your ideas and I'll finalize a poll in a few days. Not all proof concepts will necessarily generate concepts for the users.

I think we could vote weekly on which method we could use or adopt, we could have multiple running simultaneously, please write thoughts, concerns, etc.

Here's a list so far: Proof of Registration (Users registers for network.) Proof of Tip (Users are incentivized to tip. - I like "Proof of Goodwill") Proof of Reputation (Users reputation within the community proved.) Proof of Comment (Users engage with shows.) Proof of Education (Users certify their conceptual understanding of specific areas.) Proof of Learning (Users engage and prove their knowledge of in-situ content.) Proof of Social Share (Users share content via social networks) Proof of Adoption (Users join or invite friends.) Proof of Edit (Users edit typos, grammar, etc.) Proof of Verification (Prove information is verifiably correct.) Proof of Vote (User votes on polls distribute the network admins. Keep adding to the ether pad...

  • Re: When did you first start listening to LTB? What is your favorite episode?

Since the day one of the Daily Bitcoin!

  • Re: How else should the Audience "Mine" LTB? - Proof of Tip and Proof of Comment

We need a running list of ideas...Please add short explanations next to your idea.
Here is a scrappy etherpad we can use to write out this stuff.

  • Re: iOS or Android?

We just need to know our market so we can determine where to exert resources on a time scale.
iOS and Android will both be covered in some shape or form.
    Please vote :)

  • What are/should be the core areas that cover all of LTB's coin distribution?

    With LTBcoin distributed weekly.
[Edit see draft proposal below, initial idea was simplified]

  • Re: A Case For Using Conferences To Expand The LTB Brand and Enhance the Network Effect

Loving the ideas and thought Mike and as far as I know Adam is already working on this.
Question:  How important would it be to provide some sort of consistency with the conference organization and set parameters so that sponsors and attendees can reliably expect a certain level of quality and attendance at a conference?
Matt: Our goal should be to produce highest quality content.  We could build distribution channels with equipment manufacturers to allow content creators to easily expense basic equipment, such as mics. ACTs could be leveraged to curate all the content for conferences.  DSLRs are amazingly great video cameras now and can also be easily leveraged.  We could standardized equipment across ACT teams and also allow additional distribution channels for manufacturers.  I agree with you and I think this should be a great leveraging point for LTBcoin, user adoption would almost be seamless for industry leaders.
Would it be better to have a smaller number of large and successful conferences in a given year or a large number of smaller seminar type meetings?
Matt: I think quality should always outweigh quantity. We need to spend the next year or two focusing on creating and curating the best content possible.  I think year one we should do few conferences until we get our feet wet and get an established efficient process for covering events.

@Adam @mmanvil74 : I think micheal has some great ideas and we should do a call soon to discuss what we need to do to in order to move forward with this.

Thanks again to everyone coming out!

Was on the hangout. Didn't have a mic or camera hooked up, so I could only watch and listen. Enjoyed it and am excited about the coin.  Enjoy your dinner!

    Thanks for joining in Kevin!

  • Re: Content Bounties

Would we call this the Proof of Idea model?
How do we eliminate spam of the same ideas?
Maybe content creators sort through the list and downvote ideas they know have already been submitted and addressed?
10% seems like a lot for an idea. Maybe this value should migrate depending on how good of an idea it is.
For instance, if LTBcoin had been established a few weeks ago, a user could be the first to post "create show outlining what happened at Mt.Gox", given it's an obvious topic that everyone is going to cover they shouldn't really own a large stake in the idea.
I'm just thinking of examples that might break the system.

  • Re: Short PowerPoint on LTBcoin, need help putting together.

eddie said: I don't know the purpose of your presentation or your skill level. However, I have added some of what I know to help you get started. Usually presentations will be more of a visual aid, so wit might be good to express some of the ideas I've added visually with clipart or something.

Thanks for getting it started :)

  • Re: New CounterWallet Screenshots + LTBCOIN name reserved for our launch

I didn't do a character count, but I think most of these will fit.  I like everyones proposals so far, but here are a couple I thought of.
LTBcoin, mine coins by doing real work.
LTBcoin, no need for computational mining here ;)
LTBcoin, everyone's invited and mine while you learn about Bitcoin.
LTBcoin, we're building the community for cryptocurrency.
LTBcoin, changing everything you know about network media.
