Re: Airtime on Let's Talk Bitcoin! [ AUCTION 5 CLOSES NOON Pacific time SUNDAY 7/13/14]CURRENT HIGH BIDS: 23k & 12k LTBc - LAST EPISODE WINNING BIDS: 32,542LTBc and 28,442LTBc for Brawker.com and CoinMarketCap.com
If I were to win, how soon would I have to redeem my sponsor token for an ad slot? And are sponsor token transferrable on the open market if someone doesn't want to bid?

Re: Do we get LTBCoin for commenting on pages via Disqus?
@loon3 How about a short (maybe 3 questions) multiple choice quiz with a captcha for each episode? It would basically just be a faucet with a set supply of LTBCOIN per episode, maybe a small percentage of that episode's ad revenue.
We've talked about this before "proof of education"
I guess if we're doing a code word, its pretty similar. It's just that education can be acquired from outside the podcast, while the codeword is without context and thus impossible if not acquired from the podcast. Of course, both can be published on a page we dont have control over and the answers given.
I think for simplicity i'm in favor of code-word to start, but I could be convinced otherwise.
What would be super futuristic is if there was a way to add a unique code to each download and sneak it in at random transitions for each episode. The current suggestion does lead to the issue of "farming" if someone basically just creates an RSS feed of codes for people to use the day each episode is released, or creating a bunch of sockpuppet accounts to redeem the code. But then, that's a known risk with every PoP mechanism, isn't it? I like the "PoE" better than a random code since it feels more productive but it also takes more time and effort to think of unique questions for each episode, contributing to overhead costs for the whole giveaway program. A suggestion I do have is that if LTB goes that route, to make the redemption of codes as easy as possible either from the app or from the show page on the website.

Re: How should the LTB Network Operate? Please Check out BetterMeans - Open Enterprise Governance Model
I remember you showing this to me a while back, Adam. Do you know why the project is defunct? It seems like it would be very useful for a broad range of activities online.

Re: Introduce yourself!
Hello everyone, I'm John Light from the Bay Area in California. I've been interested in cryptocurrencies since late 2011 and moved to the Bay Area in early 2013 to start a Bitcoin company. Shortly after I moved here, I started a blog and a Bitcoin Consultant website so I could teach others about this exciting technology. On July 4, 2013 I organized the first Buttonwood SF meetup, which is basically the Satoshi Square of San Francisco. Towards the end of 2013 I co-founded a cryptocurrency startup called PawnCoin with a licensed pawnbroker in SF named Carl Hilsz. I'm also a frequent writer for Let's Talk Bitcoin and am very excited to have the opportunity to earn LTBcoins and help make history here. Props to Adam for taking the lead on this; I know it will be the first of many "branded" cryptocurrencies to come.

Re: Collaboration Tools and other Useful Things
Loomio is really interesting collaborative decision-making software, could be worth adding if you see utility there.

RE: XRP distribution
www.computingforgood.org
is just one of the ways they're getting rid of XRP.
They can be looked at as a speculative investment, but are more valuable for their utility on the network as an anti-spam mechanism and bridge currency for market makers.Posted on March 9, 2014 at 9:00 PM
