This thread will grow over time.     As part of the Autonomous Content Teams (ACTS) principle, rather than LTB editorial telling you what kinds of shows to form, you will organize amongst yourselves.

These teams require organization, Trello is the LTB team tool of choice for these things.  It allows you to set up ad-hoc collaborative "work boards" where tasks can be communicated and updated as needed.  This tool is free, and you will be able to hook into the greater LTB network's workflow there, or observe other ACTs personal boards.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWiunIolf4s

For those who use google products, Google Docs is the gold standard and it's a powerful tool.  For those who prefer open source options, Etherpad offers much of the same functionality without the "don't be evil vibe"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PneTbpYDMg4

Sqwiggle is a co-working application that replaces skype for teams that need to be in and out of communication over the day.  It has much richer chat options than gtalk or skype and is p2p.  It is free for teams of 3 and smaller - If this winds up being a popular tool with the community we'll be offering premium service for LTBcoin.

Loomio is a tool for collaborative decisionmaking - Suggested by @lightcoinhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soanS1588BA

What tools should be added to this list?

Loomio is really interesting collaborative decision-making software, could be worth adding if you see utility there.

I highly recommend Evernote and Dropbox as well (though they may not need mentioning here).Evernote will allow you to take photos of business cards and automatically put them into your evernote contacts for you (we got a lot from our trip to the Texas Bitcoin Conference for example).
We use Dropbox constantly for creation of our podcast. It easily allows collaboration and sharing of content between those editing and producing.
I also use Google Docs to keep track of all docs and written content for creating our show. John on the other hand prefers good ole paper and pencil. I think the combination of approaches makes for a better production!
On the iPhone I recommend iTalk for recording high quality audio with ease of exporting to Dropbox or email. And on Android I think I used to use Tape Recorder which sounded great!
For converting audio on a Mac to MP3 I recommend Switch if you need a stand alone batch converter. 128k MP3s sound great for podcasting and keep the file size down low enough to fit on the limited hosting space.
Another tool (loose definition) is the help of friends and trusted listeners or readers. Creating long form content is very time consuming. So having a couple or few people to help proof the content goes a long way in saving time. I believe it was Berry Gordy from Motown records who had ten people that he trusted. If all ten people liked the finished recording of a song then it was a hit!
Hope that is helpful, and not sure if these are the "tools" requested but they are useful anyway for creating podcasts.
    Cheers!Lij

Which of these items offer encrypted solutions?

I know BitTorrent Sync is encrypted.

Google Docs and BitTorrent Sync is the combination I use for most of my projets. Works great and both are quite fast.

I'd like to also like to add that OwnCloud has some useful collaboration features in their latest release that seem to work very well.   Although this approach may not be as fully-developed, convenient or easy to implement, it's worth noting for those of you that manage your own web server and want your "own cloud" with collaboration features!
