  • Re: Help the SWARM, Remember the 5th of November!

    5 new projects starting funding in the next couple days, interesting. I wonder what they will be

  • Proof of Participation point metric adjustments

    Hey guys

    Now that we have some more detailed stats (http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-stats), we can more easily see exactly what kind of actions users are doing, what earns the most LTBcoin etc. Check out this weeks PoP stats for example: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-stats?details=70

    One thing I have noticed so far is that the "page views" metric seems a bit over powered... For e.g this week out of the top 5 LTBcoin earners, 3 / 5 didnt even make any forum posts, just were fairly new accounts that got a shit ton of page views (note: obtaining a few thousand page views in a week is only really doable one time per account, since there is only so many pages on the site).

    Thinking of changing around the point amounts for PoP metrics. Here's a proposal:

    • Magic words: 15 points
    • Forum post or article comment: 10 points [D]
    • Active referrals: 10 points
    • *remove 2 point new user bonus*
    • Post "like": 1 point
    • Page View: 0.5 points [D]

    [D] = daily diminishing returns (less points per action the more times you do it in the same day)

    what do you think? IMO aligns more closely with what actions we want (participating on forums, listening to the shows) and is less rewarding for just lurkers and people farming new accounts

  • Re: need artwork? its right here!

    @bitsol

    @invullx Do you accept LTBcoin? Mod edit: @elpinyeknom, Do you accept LTBcoin?

    The reason I did the mod edit thing was to help the OP find out about your question

    Honestly man I dont think you should edit peoples posts like that.. OP would have gotten a notification about the reply anyway, all you did was ask the same question twice and then make a pointless post to bump it up. Also you and @invullx have butt heads before, I dont think he appreciates his posts being edited. Just sayin'

    In fact, I am just going to disable the ability for basic moderators to edit other peoples posts.. if something needs to be edited or changed in a post that the OP has neglected (like leaking someones personal info or something), one of the admins or main mods can handle it.

  • Re: growing the community

    Plenty of new people are getting into crypto all the time, it will continue to grow naturally. I dont really think we need to rely on big PR stunts like a superbowl commercial or anything like that

  • Re: Bitcointalk Blocked Chinese IP?

    @bitsol

    @segumana I do not understand what is going wrong

    Chinese Ips are getting banned from bitcointalk

    no need to resurrect a 2 month old thread to just say the same thing that the thread title says..

  • Re: Mangocoinz

    @taxidermista

    @procket34 I just heard mangocoins. Is mangocoins miner able to perform in android phone ?

    You mine mangocoinz moving your android phone.

    Could any forum mod explain what happened with the original thread please?

    was it a referral link or something? It might have been flagged as ad spam and removed

  • Re: Want to Help with LTBCoin? Update the Wiki!

    @bitsol You put some code at the end of the link that made the link invalid, but when I get rid of that in my url bar, it says it is not a site did the wiki get moved?

    this is an old thread from the old forums, AFAIK that link no longer exists. locking this

  • Re: Things to consider to make the forum better

    @coinadd1ct Not sure what thread, but some ideas have been proposed to have a weighted up / down vote system. Users with more ltbc would have a bigger impact with their votes. See if I can find where it was talked about later. I love this idea, and would love to see this implemented.

    yep, that idea is happening soon-ish

  • Re: Viacoin Clearinghouse Token and Clearwallet ?

    @jsea meh, I have hope that its possible :P although I have caused my brain to implode several times from trying to think of a feasible solution to it lol.

    One problem with something like a multi-wallet that handles several different types of coins/blockchains is that each new coin adds significant overhead. Extra servers, whole new blockchain you have to download and continuously monitor etc.. definitely doable though, just expensive resource wise
