  • Re: New users not showing up

    @lazybee Thats some coincidence, very hard to believe.

    A lot of last week's new users might have been disappointed with the return and gave up.

    thats possible. Another thing to consider... you get 2 PoP points as a one time bonus just for registering and adding your LTBcoin compatible address. Several people from last week could have just been users who registered, added their address, and then havnt come back (yet). Im looking at the actual reports generated right now, and its definitely not the exact same list of users (this stuff will be available to you guys soon when the leaderboards and personal stats are up on the site)

    @cmason

    What am I asking? Any Israeli or Israeli company involved in Bitcoin must be shunned. They may be good people, individually, but what they represent is not acceptable. Any Bitcoin company, or podcast, must reject these people, not for who they are, but for what their country represents.

    While my heart goes out to you in your struggle, I do not see this kind of group thinking as the solution. It seems that you admit above that not all of the people living in Israel have the same belief system, or are all supportive of everything their government does.

    I am not supportive of everything my government does, and I would not want to be held accountable for it...Unfortunately, democracy is tyranny of the majority, even to the point of war.

    Again, my heart goes out to you... it's a horrible situation over there.

    I agree. Shunning bitcoin businesses from israel is going to do absolutely nothing for the situation. Maybe the people there that are trying to break into the bitcoin space are also ones that very much disagree with the current paradigms, kind of like the rest of us? If anything we should be encouraging it because it goes against the paradigm.

  • Re: what about this hardware?

    You might be able to get a bit of coins from mining an alt-coin (something smaller even than dogecoin or litecoin). With bitcoin you need ASICs to even stand a chance of getting anything.

  • Re: Key personalities

    @page I don't think there's enough happening here atm to attract them. It's a bit of a chicken/egg situation, i suppose. But, I believe over the long haul things should pick up, probably creating a snowball effect.

    on the contrary, this is the only bitcoin/crypto community I have seen besides /r/bitcoin and bitcointalk.org that is actually consistently active and always several people online

  • Key personalities

    Just throwing some random thoughts out there.. IMO it would be pretty cool if we could get some of the big/well known names in the industry becoming active members on these forums. What do you guys think?

    Off the top of my head, people like Andreas, Charlie Schrem, Erik Voorhees, Roger Ver, Gaven, Amir Taki etc.. actually thinking about it now I could probably make a pretty big list lol.

    Seems like most everyone is on bitcointalk.org still, but quite frankly that place sucks pretty bad.

  • Re: Sponsors making non-crypto-related political statements

    @davidareallen HOW about a LETS TALK NEWS network... Using LTNCoins, headed up by a senior news junkie prepared to take the LTBn experiment to a new level. Just a thought.

    That would actually be pretty interesting. take the LTBcoin concept and apply it to general world news and discussions instead of purely crypto related

  • Re: Sponsors making non-crypto-related political statements

    I dont think its something that should neccesarily be encouraged, but if it doesnt directly go against network policies and they are actually willing to put up the money for it, then I think its fine. Hopefully it doesnt become a every-episode kind of thing

  • Re: Whats your price for LTBCOIN?

    @bernhard

    @cryptonaut

    @bernhard maybe its not the thread here but cant LTB be mined?

    no, its not a traditional alt coin with its own blockchain to be mined etc.. its a user created token built using the "counterparty" protocol which is built on top of the bitcoin blockchain. https://www.counterparty.co/about/

    I didnt got it yet. Some place.. i forgot were I saw we have now about 9 mil LTB and for some time ago it was about 5 mil LTB. From were are they coming? If thats not mined what is it and isnt that inflation?

    If you sign up on https://counterwallet.co , it lets you interact with the user created tokens built on counterparty. Whoever is the one that created the token (in this case, Adam) is the one that gets to issue new units and decides when to make more.

    For instance if I created a token called BANANACOIN using counterparty.. I could tell people "1 million bananacoin will be created every week for the next 10 years".. however it is actually up to me personally to create the 1 million new units each week. So unlike bitcoin, you have to trust the creator/issuer to actually do what they say.

    You can see the planned creation schedule for LTBCOIN for the next 5 years here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GzytNblMx8xBmUczX7sPC8QitkJrrRirNrh2AJtjy1Q/edit#gid=508171322

  • Re: Why Storj is not a MaidSafe competitor and is worth supporting.
