  • Re: Help me pick an android phone: 1,000 ~ 10,000 LTBc

    @fernando Check Lenovo P780. It has a user replaceable 4000 mAh battery and it is 5 inches. It has the bonus of being dual sim. I read somewhere that Lenovo's Android was not great (no manufacture version is!), but you can always flash something else.

    The Lenove P780 is one of the candidates that actually meets my criteria for batter and it seems kinda nice. I'll take a 2nd look at it before I make a final decision.

    @bikergsx If your computer crashed while reading this, how many coins would you loose?

    None. Not a single one.

    One word: Paperwallets.

  • Re: Bitcoin: Help ease my concerns

    @ademczuk I am hoping that someone can prove me wrong, but I am having my doubts about bitcoins future. Decentralised, free from whitelisting/blacklisting and useable for micropayments.

    I'll give a shot at this.

    Having Asic's and hardware wallets being hardcoded to the current version means that the gatekeepers (miners) are incentivised to not allow bitcoin to evolve, as their hardware investment will be obsolete. This has already started when the TREZOR hardware wallet couldn't work after a proposed code release so they rallied miners and the community to reject the change.

    The miners are not the ones preventing change, and particulary not due to ASICs. Hashing data and chosing what data to hash are two different things. Political rallying of the miners to reject code changes to the bitcoin core client is not related to ASICs, it's related to politics.

    I don't know the precise details of the TREZOR case but I do know that it should be possible to make transaction signing hardware that will not be obsolute unless the entire system of handing it becomes obsolete, which will not happen.

    Could you link me/us to a page which describes the issue in detail? Also, what do you know of this @adam?

    The promised Bitcoin 2.0 protocols that will deliver smart contracts or crypto-equity are already too expensive. The LTB Media network advised in a podcast today that every time they distribute 'tokens/shares' through counterparty each week it costs $70 worth of BTC, for only 400 people!

    And it's slow and tedious to boot! Really though, this is made on the counterparty protocol with a specialized code implementation and this is all experimental software. Treat it as such.

    Bitcoin also is costing approximately $30 per transaction, paid for by the miners. This is hardily a platform for micro transactions or use in 3rd world economies.

    I disagree with this statement. It does not cost me anywhere near $30 to mine on a transaction and as a miner I should know. I also send small payments frequently and it has always worked quite well, as long as I've paid the transaction fee or used bitcoins that has been laying around for a long time.

    Maybe you should try sending a small amount of value to someone very very far away, and confirm for yourself that it actually works? If you can do, and do it consistently, then you have nothing to worry about when it comes to the networks ability to confirm the transactions.

    There is also the risk that the Bitcoin Foundation has been captured. Andreas' desubscription from them for their lack of transparency is serious a red flag.

    Then dig a hole in the ground, put the bitcoin foundation in it, and put the dirt back on top, then walk away. You don't need them.

  • Re: Record my article(s) as audio.

    @tim-tams I can do music no problem. My co-host writes and records tons of his own stuff that I use for our show. I'll work on my tone and hopefully I can make things a bit more exciting. Let me know if there's anything you want me to do next. Should I edit some music into this one for you?

    If you want to, yes. Don't spend too much time on this one piece though, since we haven't agreed on a price and I don't want to pay too little and you're already doing a better job than I expected.

    I have two articles that I'm working on atm, one about games in relation to cryptocurrencies, and the other about cryptocurrencies and decisionmaking in organizational structures. They'll most likely take a week, maybe a bit longer, to finish up.

  • Re: Record my article(s) as audio.

    @tim-tams Let me know what you think.

    Oh, and at the end of the recording it would be nice if you could add something like: "Take part of the discussion by visiting the letstalkbitcoin.com website." or "Let the author know what your opinion is on this by visiting the article on the letstalkbitcoin.com website."

  • Re: Record my article(s) as audio.

    @tim-tams

    If you plan on making alot of these, it might be worthwhile to look around for some intro/outro tunes, to give your recordings a personalized idenity (other than the part where you tell your name).

  • Re: Record my article(s) as audio.

    @tim-tams Completed!

    Let me know what you think.

    Excellent audio quality and a clear and crisp voice. My only concern is a rather monotonous tone, more feeling/engagement would make the recording more palatable.

    Also, while in writing referring to "the below", "the above" works well, it should probably be replaced by something more suitable for a recording and when referring to "I, me" it would probably be wise to replace with "the author".

    @cryptonaut What do we do when we have a recording? Can I update the article and add the recording to it?

  • Shorten writers list of blog post.

    Currently if you're a writer for the LTB network you have a section called "posts" which contain all posts every written on the network making it relatively hard to find your own posts.

    I'd like to propose a change so that it either only shows the posts you own, shows the posts you're eligable to edit or add show/hide buttons to filter the results so you can easily get to your own posts.

    @cryptonaut Ping!

  • Re: [FUNDRAISER] Educational Video: Family Economics.

    @btcrevel 1) I am pledging 20 mBTC (sorry, but I don't want to spend so much LTBcoins, I don't find the time right now to go on the exchange and buy them)

    Thanks, I added your pledge to the top.
