Re: What should be added to the forums?
@spengler Could there at some point in the future be a feature to suggest to users material which they may be interested in? I'm talking about tailor-made suggestions to suit individual users, possibly based on their previous "likes" for articles/posts/podcasts etc.
An algorithm could be written to match together groups of users with similar "likes" in order to enable suggestions for material with a high chance of suiting the individual user's interests.
I got the idea after reading a comment from @shopnhowler here:
@shopnhowler Glad to hear so many people with a common problem :)
Do we have any other similarities? Are there ways of filtering and distributing content according to our similarities? Like, @Doogy has an interest in NXT, Counterparty, Ethereum. Does @Doogy fall into a category of commuters who would like to have these podcasts funneled while on the road?
I like your filtering idea. I would be interested in having it applied somehow to written content here on the website. It could be a valuable way to condense information into a tailor made section for news and ideas.
Perhaps an algorithm could be written to monitor people's "likes" and to suggest other stuff that they may like, based on other users who have a similar pattern?
Yes, i've been calling these Archetypes - First we create the platform (doing that) then we enable users to turn every single thing possible on or off if they really want to. Then we see what types of users make what kinds of modifications, and one by one we spin off different dedicated front pages for each specific user group and start recommending content to them from within their sphere.
Thats my broad plan here of how to figure out what should actually be IN these things, that and let everybody curate their own blog and see what is most popular.

Re: Broadcasting LTBcoin embedded in podcast's audio
@bitcoinsdr Wouldn't be great to have LTBcoin embedded in the podcasts' audio? It would make a good Proof of Listening.
Some inspiration: http://chirp.io/chirping-bitcoin-over-the-radio/
We're doing this but not with an audio thing, thats novel but not really workable imo. You can listen to a preview of the system at the end of episode 126

Re: Virtex.com - a New Online Crypto Currency Trading Platform
@dcbitcoin I just attempted to register for an account here and was halted with this message:
UNITED STATES has restricted access to our services. For more information please refer to the "Terms of use".
any idea when this will be resolved?
I don't suspect it will

Re: LTBCOIN for the Audience!
@jedwardo Is it correct that today's distribution was just based on whether or not you had 5 forum postings? I usually listen to the podcast through my iPhone podcast app. Should I start using a different method to get credit for when I listen?
No, 2.25m was based on the 5 forum posts, 1.7m was based on Proof of Participation (commenting, viewing, etc.)
We do NOT have proof of listening up yet, we hope to do the first test on tuesdays episode. I talked about it at the end of episode 126, listen after the credits.

Re: Is there a counterparty app out there in the wild?
Nothing yet! I know of one wallet in development (it already exists, just adding counterparty functionality) but its not announced yet.

Re: SWARM.XCP - Swarm Coin.
@jedwardo After hearing about CoinPowers in this thread, I checked out their website, and they seem to be advertising a very similar product with very similar quotes from Adam and Vitalik. Except that Adam seems to be connected to CoinPowers in some official capacity (what exactly does a CVO do?), CoinPowers is open to multiple metacoin platforms, and they seem to at least have a prototype as they have released Tatiana Coin. Now I would like to buy some CoinPowers tokens, but I can't find any information on fundraising. Does anyone know if/when/how the CoinPowers team plans to raise money?
CoinPowers is not selling a token, we went the more traditional route and raised capital from outside the space. We might sell a token but the legality of doing so is really iffy right now so we figured better to wait on the token and focus on the platform and projects first.
My role is basically a vested advisor focused on the bitcoin space, although we haven't formalized the agreement yet. CVO (chief visionary officer) basically means big picture strategy and fine detail vision.

Re: Response to 2 phase mining. Episode 126.
I think very large pools are most certainly non-ideal. I like the tree chains everybody-as-a-solo-miner type system best, but this seems to at the very least spread things out a great deal more.
Why do you think its a non-issue?

@joeylucia Hi,
I would like to post content on this forum. I tried to live off of Bitcoin for a week and created a diary, I thought people might find interesting.
@adrian-sutton I have written an alternative to taxation based on gaming theory, incentivised entropy and fractal evolution as the engines for social development projects. The link to it is here:-

You're both activated, you'll find the "Add Post" option on your dashboard.

Re: Measures in place to prevent spam posts?
Good community attracts good community, we're going to turn every community member into a moderator letting them use their LTBc to curate comments and make an ltbc profit from the platform if they do a good job
Roze: ah, I see. decentralized moderation! I think I read or heard about that, you'll weigh the value based on how close to consensus each individals actions are and incentivize a functioning wisdom of the crowd scenarion. Lets see if that solves the "internet troll problem" that gavin spoke about in amsterdam :)
LTBCOIN: Its not fully automated
Basically users put their LTBc at risk betting that it does not meet published standards, ones that are non-controversial are dealt with and compensated automatically, controversial ones have a moderator make apply the rules and take a flat fee (probably 20%) for their service no matter the decision. The losing side donates their LTBc to the winning side, split proportionally. So its not about consensus its about if it will be found to comply with the published standards or not. This will be
Roze: Hmm.. then maybe I read about something else then. That sounds like a good system as well, though only for content publication.
Roze: the same concept should probably work for hiding spam and up/down voting comments on the content as well though. time will tell, I guess.
LTBCOIN: It'll be the system for a bunch of qualitative things, and it works for comment moderation. You don't want "disagree" to be the same as "flag" - This is for "flag"
LTBCOIN: agree/disagree is directly tipping the commenter or someone not the commenter
