    Could there at some point in the future be a feature to suggest to users material which they may be interested in? I'm talking about tailor-made suggestions to suit individual users, possibly based on their previous "likes" for articles/posts/podcasts etc.

    An algorithm could be written to match together groups of users with similar "likes" in order to enable suggestions for material with a high chance of suiting the individual user's interests.

    I got the idea after reading a comment from @shopnhowler here:

    @spengler

    @shopnhowler Glad to hear so many people with a common problem :)

    Do we have any other similarities? Are there ways of filtering and distributing content according to our similarities? Like, @Doogy has an interest in NXT, Counterparty, Ethereum. Does @Doogy fall into a category of commuters who would like to have these podcasts funneled while on the road?

    I like your filtering idea. I would be interested in having it applied somehow to written content here on the website. It could be a valuable way to condense information into a tailor made section for news and ideas.

    Perhaps an algorithm could be written to monitor people's "likes" and to suggest other stuff that they may like, based on other users who have a similar pattern?

    Yes, i've been calling these Archetypes - First we create the platform (doing that) then we enable users to turn every single thing possible on or off if they really want to. Then we see what types of users make what kinds of modifications, and one by one we spin off different dedicated front pages for each specific user group and start recommending content to them from within their sphere.

    Thats my broad plan here of how to figure out what should actually be IN these things, that and let everybody curate their own blog and see what is most popular.

    Interesting. This to me resembles the Last.Fm of crypto blogs which suggest songs according to empirical categorization of social groups rather the semi-proprietary, clandestine algorithm created by Pandora employees to predict music users may like. With the "reply" feature, this has the slightly different benefit of the users to easily "generate" content in some senses.

    Collapsible sigs/disable avatars? Not that I don't love looking at all of your glorious faces, and pop-culture references, but it's a nice option for screen real estate.

    I realize people put donation addresses and the like in sigs, but there is a lot of duplicate data being pushed through all of my tubes. ;)

    The design is going to be tightened up a lot. I have very wide screens and its painful how tiny the content column is :)

    Same here for the wide screens. :) Still, and if I'm the only one it obviously shouldn't be a high priority, but I often look for ways to disable avatars in forums simply because from an information standpoint they don't offer much.. and at worst they can sometimes be animated. The sigs are just repeated information which can usually be seen in a profile-- I mentioned collapsible because it would be nice knowing they're there, say if you want to donate, but don't have to consistently parse through the same info if it's unnecessary to the reader.

    Just a random suggestion. :) Either way I like the idea of maximizing content per screen, so I can't wait to see the new design.

    @dpc The lack of a Bitcoin Price ticker is one of my favorite features of the LTB site. If this were a democracy I'd vote to leave it out. The crypto community is not suffering from lack of price feeds.
    Howerver @william does have an excellent point that a ticker could drive traffic to LTB site if it were able to get published around the interwebs and linked back to a page at LTB.

    I'd also like to see signatures isolated away from content better. Perhaps if they were forced to the bottom of the post and separated from the content more (different color/Smaller or different font/stronger border). Right now on short posts a signatures show up in the center or top of a post and blend with the content of the post. This is pretty minor though and probably doesn't bother other people.

    @adam

    @william Would you believe I'm sorta a partner at bitcoinaverage? I like their price and breakout, if we integrate a ticker it will likely use that.

    That being said, you should expect LTB indexes in the future. It's a big area of focus for me, I think it'll be huge.

    I've been waiting for the Winkdex API to come out.

    You're not alone. I totally agree.

    By the way @cryptonaut or whoever designs and mantaining this site is doing a great job! There are a some small improvements to be had, but overall the experience is great. Let me hide sigs and I'll be even happier.

    Thanks! yes, many many improvements on the way. Im mostly a progammer, not a graphic designer at all, so we are going to bring in another person to help with overall design look and UX stuff

    Facebook sign-in and Facebook-like chat/private messaging would be pretty sweet.
