I try and convince every waiter/waitress that I ever have to accept a tip in BTC. By doing this it is at least making them aware of the existence of the technology and believe it or not, i have about a 25% success rate of getting them to accept the BTC. Thats pretty good in my opinion :)
Do you help them set up a MyCelium(or other mobile) wallet on their smartphone?
I think if we as a community organically spread the word about bitcoin to service industry employees, the use and popularity will spread like wildfire
I just usually get them setup with blockchain so that way if they use applications that require Bitcoin payments, it can be easier for them to pay.
I actually have never used MyCelium, I need to check it out though
I just read that Google took down MyCelium from the Play store. You can still get it directly from their site but this still kinda sucks...
Read a thread where a bunch of people were freaking out wondering if their current balances on their wallets would be effected.
The general belief is that Google is wanting some of the miner fees people pay for transactions, and since they barely discovered this "hidden fee" (sarcasim intended) they are made that they havent been receiving their piece of the pie...
I hope it all gets straightened out whatever their reason
