  @nicknz You could you have an extra magic phrase (or treasure hunt as mentioned above) which combines words from all the shows. It would reward listeners who have listened to every show and can crack some code. maybe even one which involves a word from every article.

  While that does sound like a fun idea, I am not interested in every show on the LTBn. Each of the shows is intentionally different to appeal to a different audience. It doesn't seem fair to me that you would basically be punishing people for not liking all of the content LTBn has.

  Ditto. I have one or two favorites and rarely have time to listen to all the shows. I think each show is meant to appeal to a different segment of listeners.

  I think it would be best suited to an additional "game" of sorts.

  I want to chime in that I did the magic word on Brawker but felt it was kind of trashy to send me off site to get the word. Money needs to be made yes but not at the expense of cheapening the experience of rewarding us for listening.

  @mckmuze I was thinking that a magic phrase would be more effective than a magic word. You could say parts of the phrase throughout the episode. It would ensure people are actually listening. Just my two cents

  I would not mind if they do this as well. A little puzzle (even a very easy one) to deliver the magic word would be cool.

  I didn't mind having to visit another site and as he said, it was new for him and so was trying something out. Shouldn't have been in the notes though. I do understand the issue with people that maybe were driving etc, but really. How could you use the magic word if you were driving anyway? lol

  At the end of the day, it's new so there will be a bit of time where the kinks get ironed out.

  Yes, it is new so some experimenting is to be expected but I am also going to chime in that the moment I have to leave the site and go get the magic word somewhere else it doesn't feel like an exclusive reward for listening anymore.... instead it feels like those cheap reward sites where you visit X number of sites to collect points instead of something fun that shows we were listening.

  I don't think anyone would be penalized for the concept of a bonus magic word game where you get extra points for listening to all of the shows. You would still get your points for the episodes you listened to but if you take time to listen to them all you get extra points or something.

  It isn't a punishment because you don't listen to everything, you still get paid, you just get paid less.

  I don't mind how it was done as it involved all of 10 secs to find it on the site as I was using my computer while listening to it and I was meaning to look at brawker anyways. I can see where people are having issue with it tho and don't want to have to track down every single code.

  lol, spot on.

  sure, it wasn't a massive inconvenience to go to a website to get the word, but i'll admit i felt moderately annoyed about it at the time... (to be fair, i wasn't really in the mood for following directions)

  just my two bits.

  Agree, I'm sure MMM is noting making a mint out of his podcasts. If this helps a little I have no problem. I'd rather he had an incentive to keep his podcasts coming.
