I'm not one to normally complain but I feel the magic word isn't as "magical" if I have to visit a sponsors website to get it. Just my thoughts.

Am I missing something. It was my understanding Magic Words were aired during LTB programs.

Yes. That's the way we planned it to be and this is quite a surprise from MMM.
We have actually discussed sponsored magic words as we were coming up with the system. But speaking for myself, that makes sense if the magic word itself is the sponsor. So maybe you have to remember and write "Big Mac" and feel all hungry while you type in the word, but that's it. No more inconvenience.
As this is it screws up the metric we want to measure, which is the number of listeners, and not the number of listeners who don't get irritated at having to visit a site to find out the magic word.

I didn't hear the show. I don't listen to MMM often. No commentary on the show, for the most part I mainly listen to Bitcoin's & Gravy and Let's Talk Bitcoin! Thanks for clearing that up.

It didn't bother me since it was fairly easy to get. But now that you posted this I realized it might have bothered me If I were driving or running.

I think it's fine. If people buy sponsored Magic Word they can lead to sponsored content. Still I haven't listened to MMM yet, so I don't know the word yet

It did seem a little out of the box. Da rules, is Da rules.... I found it relatively painless as I was browsing other things anyway, but once I got to Brawker I realized there was nothing I wanted there by the magic word. I learned something, but it is not a measurable experience.

Here was my message to paul after I approved it.
In the future can you not put the magic word right at the beginning? I don't have a problem with you trying things like the brawker register thing, but I don't think its good to put the clue in the shownotes, or to explain it right at the beginning. The point isn't to maximize the number of people who enter the word, rather it's to see how many people are really listening and then engaging.
So you can see where I took issue and where I did not.
I don't have a problem with trying things, please do voice your opinion because I plan to keep most of these programs pretty neutral for their users but if there's something you don't like it's in your best interest to make it known.

Since there is an auction I have recommended that the magic word goes to the high bidder. This encourages the underdog to bid higher. Second place wins and advert but not the magic word.
Obviously the magic word would have to be unique so it can be a condensed magic phrase with a maximum number of letters (TBD)

I would support auctioning off the word itself if any of the show hosts did it. You'd have to make sure the auction doesn't give the word away.

I agree. Saying the word in the actual episode, like was done the past few times, felt more like it was a reward for listener. Putting it on a sponsors site cheapens the concept in my opinion.
