Regardless, do you have any specific ideas for things WE (early LTBcoin folks) can do to address these issues?
Glad we have a space to talk through these issues before we launch!

Well now that we know more about the serious effort behind Sidechains, it makes our little conversation more interesting. Prob worthy of a new Topic.

The way I understand side chains, you would still have to implement some sort of over the top functionality.  I am currently researching merged mining as we speak, but I just don't understand how it fixes any of the problems with a lot of the functions people want to implement.

A good example of my question is lets say someone wanted to add an attribute that would totally bloat the blockchain.  So you make a sidechain.  Isnt it still bloating the blockchain then?
Either way I say rock on with counterparty, as either way you go you still have to figure out the numbers and economy of ltbcoin whatever chain you're on.

Sidechain naming might be inaccurate because it's most probably a fork of bitcoin, ie a separate code repository.  So the sidechain's blockchain will get bloated, but not the bitcoin core blockchain.

Yeah, that's what I love about sidechains.  You can bloat them as much as you want, and the only reason you would care is if you're invested in its purpose.

Adam said: I always liked the idea of having coins as network access. If you have LTBcoins, then perhaps there should be access to certain areas of the forum, etc as that shows commitment.

There is a fine line to walk here between reward and exclusion. Another thing we've considered is making all content available to premium members about 12hrs early (the night before instead of the mid-morning after) so they can a) be ahead of the curve and b) have the right days content for the commute in to work (in the US this is a big part of our market)

I think there are a bunch of possibilities. We've talked before about doing audio versions of all the written pieces to, that could be a premium feature - never read again and not miss any of the varied LTB content.

In terms of income generation, this is an excellent model. There are a lot of altcoin speculators out there (pumping lots of money into the BitCoin ecosystem) who would pay a premium for early access to industry news.

I can't wait to see how this unfolds. I'm glad to be a part of it.

I am really interested to see how this implementation goes. I think that in the future we could see students and entrepreneurs launching a coin as fundraising for their professional career or something. Very exciting!

Any further detail on counterparty and the 40/80kb limit and how this might impact LTBCoin - it's not shutting down the launch is it?
