@bcohen In some cases I would like to adjust higher. I have one article I am working on where the editor will receive 50% (they will probably be listed as a co-writer.) In the future it would be great to be able to adjust this amount and be able to split with other users "automagically." For now i'll work it out with the editors one on one.

Sure thing. This is mostly a temporary measure due to some concerns of the current editors with lack of compensation/recognition in the current system. We can tweak the percentages and yeah, a bit later on we can have things like splitting the points between more than one writer/editor or configuring the point split per article

Thanks for removing the 4X multiplier for podcasts! I published an article that got a little buzz on Reddit recently and had high page views. It was exciting for a newbie blogger, and interesting to see how this buzz was "recognized" through a higher PoV reward. As the price stands for LTBcoin right now, it covered the expenses involved in writing it :).

Editors should DEFINITELY be rewarded well. Especially if they can prevent me from making public mistakes!!!!!!!!!

Another suggestion: A recommendations engine for new articles based on a user's reading history. You know -- like the ones that pop up on coindesk.

    • Blog Editors now receive 20% of the points for both Proof of Quality/Publication and Proof of Value reports. As an editor, if you set the post status to either "Published" or "Editing/Processing", you automatically claim that post for editor rewards. An admin or chief editor can manually set the editor for each post.

    Thank you!

How does the distribution work if one editor edits/processes and another publishes?

at the moment, there can only be one editor attached to each post, so its whoever "claims" it first. For example, if you are editing a post, you could set it to "Editing/Processing" status. If one of the admins / chief editor etc. comes and does a final check over and then publishes it, you are still considered the editor for that submission (unless an admin manually changes it). Does that make sense?

Hi, i would like to suggest an update to the board.

Instead of sending only a notification about the distribution of X LTB is it possibile to have a report like this?

You posted X times in the boards, get X likes, sent X likes, commented X times to the articles, .... and so on

this could be usefull to know where we are doing wrong and where we can do better (always considering board's rules).

Someone told me that this type of report were sent only in the first week of distribution, why did you remove it?

That's a very good step in the right direction. However, I always do a certain amount of work - often a lot - on a piece at the proofreading stage in order to get it to a point where I feel good about hitting "publish." I'm getting no compensation for the final stages of publishing.

It's partly a matter of me communicating better with the other editors about how much work I'm doing after they turn their edited articles over for proofreading, partly a matter of training them to take care of the matters of Markdown formatting and editing style, and partly a matter of me being a perfectionist about editorial consistency.

Another small thing: When I set a post to "editing/processing," it appears as in "draft" on the posts page. Can the status accurately reflect that a post is in editing? This way, both authors and editors can immediately see that a post has been claimed for editing, and we can distinguish it from spam and posts that authors are still working on.

    Thanks.

Right. sounds good. The setup at the moment is mostly temporary while we plan and flesh out the submission/editing/publishing process

    @cryptonaut @adam @rotalumis @everyone else :)

    Proof of Participation Updates

    • You can now receive negative PoP points. If a moderator deletes/buries your forum post, you lose a full 4 points for every offense. (I added a note for this on the stats page: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-stats ). This means that if we have to remove your posts (due to spam etc.) every day, you could actually end up with 0 or negative overall PoP and not receive any weekly LTBcoin.
    • Fixed the calculations for "diminishing returns". Previously, it was diminishing scores for the entire week combined. It now properly only diminishes on a day by day basis. For instance, if you made 70 posts in a week and spread it out at 10 posts per day, you would now get a total of 82 points. Before this fix, you would only have received 19 points.
    • Removed 4x multiplier for blog posts with podcasts in the Proof of Value calculations. Instead, podcasters now get extra points for every magic word submitted by a user.

    Other Updates

    • Fixed some bugs in the web API
    • Added an API endpoint for "Magic Words" (primarily for use in the official LTB app). Documentation for this is coming soon, but a quick note on using it can be found in the LTB Platform Support Trello board.

@Cryptonaut, could you please elaborate more about calculations for "diminishing returns" issue.

    Thank you.
