I don't think it's a nice idea, in this way everone can buy 100k LTBc from the market (worth 0,14 btc) and have admin powers...
The LTB Network Forum
I feel like LTBc is ruining the the forums completely...

Having to own a few k to post first will put some buying pressure on the market which is good. But it doesn't really make a good welcome sign for the site. So I don't think that will work.
(Maybe you coud reward only the people that recieved likes, that are for sure people that didn't post crap.) Edit: you could like your own posts with different accounts, so never mind.

Reduced admin powers, the decision to remove posts and permissions would still rest with the mods. yes people will always try to abuse the privileges, but the financial incentive isn't aligned. The way it is now, the incentive to make heaps of useless posts is the only financial incentive.
Why would someone buy heaps of LTBc and then attempt to censor other accounts? The only reason would be to limit the total amount of posts and get a larger portion of the pie at distribution time. This is counter productive as the value of LTBc is largely because of the community, but people focused only on short term gains would still try it.
If someone tries this, mod's should realize that the account was misbehaving reasonably quickly. Once they do any accounts that had been flagged would be unlocked, it would probably be fairly easy to automatically save the posts that aren't shown until mod review also and show them automatically once unlocked also. Doing this the potential for any attacker to reduce legitimate posts is significantly reduced.
If that's not enough, how about if you flag an account that is not producing spam then you miss out on a proportionate number of LTBc in the distribution and at the mod's discretion they strip the pseudoadmin rights from any given account. Due to the cost of registering a LTBc address, creating multiple new accounts becomes unprofitable fairly quickly.
If you're still concerned about people gaming the system start with only allow one flagging of an account at a time, once a flagging account has gained reputation over time and 10 confirmed spam catches then up the limit a bit... There are so many ways to make this work its crazy :P

What we see happen everywhere is that the people who value money enough to amass significant amounts will do all they can to keep it. Cue the regulatory capture of industry due to lobbying/bribing of governments.
If we assume the people who amass enough LTBc to perform these tasks will want their LTBc to maintain value then this may well be a good solution.
My opinion is that it would probably work as outlined in my first post without all the additional caveats because this is still a forum and we are all still subject to the Mods. This should just make their jobs easier.

Lots of good ideas guys. Once we get the blog article submission and editing process reworked so we can get things rolling on the front page again, then we will be implementing a whole bunch of upgrades on the forums. Looking at starting that hopefully within a few weeks, so hang tight

@lovebitcoins Sadly this is true and I've found that I visit maybe once per week at this point. I can't stand to sort through all of the bullshit anymore and the SvN ratio is off the charts here anymore. It is a major turn off to me and I am sure many others as well.
This really needs to be more of a priority in my opinion at the moment. It is literally destroying something that is relatively cool.
Maybe it also has an effect on the Governing All it lacks is good in its performance

They don't have to have all admin powers, just their downvotes could be worth a little more than their newbie counterparts
