Re: Tipping LTB with LTBcoin
The interesting thing in all of this to me is not whether or not Adam bids on his own commercial slots--it is his show, he could bid if he wants, or just put in his own extra spot on his own initiative, whatever. What is interesting to me is how is he going to continue making enough money from this show now that LTBcoin is in the picture, compared to before when he just sold those slots and presumably got cash? I can't remember the exact figure, but I think he mentioned somewhere that he was making $300 or 500 or so per show from the ads? I mean, with all the production effort and other aspects of work that goes into making this show, it's not a trivial undertaking. Presumably adam needs to make a living off of his work. I think the idea is that he can sell his LTBcoin to the advertiser (on an exchange, or whatever) and then the advertiser uses that to buy the airtime? But if there are already 2 million+ coins out there (do we know how many have been distributed, BTW?), why does anyone need to buy them right now? And, how do we know they would buy them from Adam, who is the one who is supposed to be making a living off of this. Do I make sense?

Re: Here before the LTBCoin Launch? Get your part of the initial disbursement for the Initial Community
@daveb "I love that we don't have to make people use a specific wallet just for us. I can't wait to see multiwallets become the norm."
It is becoming an issue for me. Too many apps. There are so many passwords and addresses and pass phrases and on and on. I have multiple email addresses based on what I am doing and they all have different ways to access them as well. It is too the point where I have to decrypt a file that has all my passwords on it just to figure out how to log into my accounts on any given site. So YES! Thank you for using a multiwallet. My only beef with it is the pass phrase. I would rather it be something user definable so I don't have to open that file to figure out how to log on.
It's interesting you say that DaveB because I am on the exact same boat. I keep thinking that there must be a better solution than to encrypt a file that holds my passwords. As for the counterwallet passphrase, the idea is that logging into your wallet should be so important that you would actually make an effort to memorize your passphrase. If counterwallet were using strong alphanumeric and special character passwords it may be near impossible for people to remember them. On the flip side, a passphrase is both memorable and secure.
What about a password manager app like KeePass. I find it's more convenient than encrypting a file. Still--not like the old days of 1 email address and 1 or 2 passwords!

Re: What Every Piece of Content Must Have to be Published & Paid
So, as a content creator, can I republish content that I release for on LTB network? For instance, on my own blog? Maybe if I publish on LTB network first?

Re: DEVELOPMENT REQUEST - "Jobs" platform and the Transcription Experiment
Adam said: See this thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294947.0;topicseen
The TL;DR is there was an effort by a non-listener over the summer of 2013 to have episodes of LTB (at the time up to episode 50) transcribed, it started with a .10BTC bounty he offered, I kicked in an additional .05BTC each (although I dont think he ever let me pay him). It was slow at first but then the price ran up and so over the last few months things went nuts, the project got really big and out of control because it was all organized in a giant forum thread by a volunteer paying out of pocket. The project has now stopped.
I would really like to provide a platform for people to set up "jobs" such as "Transcribe episode 66 of LTB", they can contribute to the bounty in LTBCOIN or Bitcoin and then when somebody does the job the bounty is released to them. People want to help all the time, and this type of platform will let people contribute time, money or work depending on their situation.
Thanks!Re transcription: This is a great idea. I am an academic, and we love things that are written down because they are easier to analyze in some ways. Transcription takes, for me, about 2 hours for 1 hour of tape, depending on tape quality. So it's a lot of time, but I might be willing to transcribe episodes that I find interesting and especially valuable like the recent episode 104.

Re: LTBCoin and the start of Private Network Tokens
Adam said: I always liked the idea of having coins as network access. If you have LTBcoins, then perhaps there should be access to certain areas of the forum, etc as that shows commitment.
There is a fine line to walk here between reward and exclusion. Another thing we've considered is making all content available to premium members about 12hrs early (the night before instead of the mid-morning after) so they can a) be ahead of the curve and b) have the right days content for the commute in to work (in the US this is a big part of our market)
I think there are a bunch of possibilities. We've talked before about doing audio versions of all the written pieces to, that could be a premium feature - never read again and not miss any of the varied LTB content.
In terms of income generation, this is an excellent model. There are a lot of altcoin speculators out there (pumping lots of money into the BitCoin ecosystem) who would pay a premium for early access to industry news.

Re: The Proof of Publishing Protocol
Very interesting discussion developing. My 2 cents. Proof of Recognition & Proof of Publishing are both important. You don't necessarily know which content will be successful and you need to generate content by rewarding authors. Meanwhile, the people who produce successful content will want to be recognized for that as well. The idea to use various metrics for proof of recognition is good, and for the long term success of the network it is crucial to maintain (human) editorial evaluation of some aspects like "journalistic integrity" and "industry impact." I mean, DACs are only "autonomous" to a degree, right? At some point they interface with actual human beings.

Re: LTBcoin Launch Day Distribution
Adam said: Also Griff, you misunderstood the first post - It is not 50% of the total money supply, it is 50% of the first weeks issuance. There are another 300 weeks worth of distribution after that.
So, this really interests me then... When will advertisers have to start paying in LTBcoin? Are you willing to let others sell advertisers the LTBcoin that they need, or must they get it from you? How will you manage not to work for free? And, are you able to give us any figures about the LTB network's current revenue?

Re: LTBcoin Launch Day Distribution
Wow! 50% premine... Is that set in stone...? It seems a little high... It will probably work out because you guys have such a great following, (including me. I listen to every episode that comes out the day it comes out) but as a normal invester would never buy a coin that was premined too such an extent... Even if I trust the people who receive it not to sell them off... Just saying... why not premine a little less to try to attract more investors? Or is it just that if you premine at all you might as well go big?
I think that the premine is important. Adam and the others currently involved in producing content are what make LTBcoin valuable in the first place. Solid content is about the only thing that brings a media network viewers, advertisers and revenue. Since most of the coin's value comes from their already-invested work, they obviously need a larger share of the original distribution. Also, lets say they didn't pre-mine, and advertisers had to pay in LTB coin. Then they would buy from others and not Adam, so Adam would end up working for free.
