  • Re: It's Expensive Using Bitcoin!

Seems like this is a tradeoff for using counterparty on the BitCoin blockchain... If these fees can't be controlled it could really make this project difficult in the long run. Theoretically, could LTBcoin be migrated away from counterparty to a different protocol, if needed at some point in the future?

  • Re: Whats your price for LTBCOIN?

@maygor I have bought XCP at Poloniex but I'm having problems with the withdrawal from poloniex to my counterwallet… It failed twice and don't know where the problem is... Poloniex or Counterwallet

I had problems withdrawing XCP from polo a few weeks ago. I let them know, and they suspended all withdraws. Got my XCP back about 48hrs later. Sold them, and didn't try again. But I just sold about 2000 LTBC on DEX for 5XCP. Also sold some for BTC. Counterparty is quite interesting, it's my first time experimenting with the decentralized exchange.

  • Re: Bitcoin related research

Thanks Dan! I appreciate this info. I am also looking for citations and amounts! I want to put this info in an article I am writing. Are you or is someone else able to help me on these counts? Thanks! (I knew about the Silk Road coins, but hadn't thought about the GOX coins yet!)

    @adam

@william OK. Fair enough. It's good to know that there is enough momentum in this project to continue without immediate needs from funds. I guess that in the long term the network itself could sell coins on the market to subsidize those airfares and audio equipment? Also, what about the total coin distribution? Is there a way to see this on the Counterparty block explorer?

    Try this http://blockscan.com/assetInfo.aspx?q=LTBCOIN

You can also look at Shareholders to see who has what.

The final quantity will be 510 million LTBC issued over five years (mostly the first two)

The network does have "funds" both in the form of the 10% of each weekly allocation that go to the Infrastructure/Platform warchest, but we hope to pay as many people as possible actually in LTBC rather than selling it. For now we are paying necessary costs in BTC and will be transparently compensating that expense with LTBC.

So, about 57million coins have been issued? Can we know which address is the 10% weekly allocation to the platform? Presumably the largest wallets are owned by the podcast creators and authors from last year? And the rest of the addressess--like my 20,000LTB address--are based on activity on ltbcoin.com (i.e. number of posts a person has done)?

Nicely detailed info Adam. It would be nice to keep having this sort of report for every distribution... Like, is the weekly distribution 2mil ish, now? Maybe a bit less data though--something easier and less time-consuming to digest? Of course, I know it would take time to create this data...

  • Bitcoin related research

I will pay 3000 LTBcoin to the person or people who answers this question:

“How many BitCoins are ‘likely’ owned by the US Government, for example, through confiscation in criminal trials? To what degree of certainty can it be known that these coins are under government control? Are there particular BitCoin addresses known to be under US Government control?”

Much of this data has been documented on the web, in mainstream press releases, and has been studied by others. I am looking for someone to collate available data rather than do original research. Thus, citations (URLs of sources) are important…

I will pay out a total of 3000 LTBcoin, on July 13 to the first person who can completely answer this question. If this first person does not provide a complete answer I will divide the payment with the next person who offers more complete information, in proportion to their contribution. The research must be provided on this forum for peer review and evaluation, as well as the use of future researchers.

  • Re: Do we get LTBCoin for commenting on pages via Disqus?

@adam If you can help us figure out a way to do it, sure. Maybe a time limited code given to you in audio. You enter in your account before a week has passed? @rotalumis, @mmanville @cryptonaut @deweller @matt @john thoughts?

This is the best idea regarding this that I have heard so far. Better, in my opinion, than linking external accounts to this one.

I think a tipping facility would be great. Can't wait.

  • Consulting Request

    Hello,

I will pay 1500 LTBcoin to each of the first two people who submit me detailed, appropriately cited answers to these questions:

“The amount or range, denominated in BTC, that a person (X) would pay in sending BitCoin purchased from CoinBase.com, to a wallet belonging to another person (Y) on a cellphone app like Mycelium, combined with the transaction fees that this person (Y) would pay in sending those BTC to a third wallet (Z). What are the factors that influence the total transaction fees of X->Y->Z? Do the transaction fees depend, for example, on the wallets (Mycelium) and exchanges (CoinBase) used or the amount being transferred?”

This will be open-source consulting. Please respond on this thread, for the benefit of future researchers and the community's peer-review. I would like to have a payment mechanism whereby I pay the two people whose answers have the most up votes one week from today, July 13. If this is not possible, I will go with the first two complete answers that are posted.

    Thanks,

    William
