Re: #Doodling4Tips
@segaboy81 Um. I don't want to tip you... I want to go into business with you. I host the blog, you make the doodles. Seems like it would be a success to me.
Hey, that sounds fun! How can I get ahold of you? I don't see a way to message you privately on this forum.
Eric
Why not start a comic strip here? LTB is always looking for content. I'm sure that if it's a good comic @adam would set you up with a share of the weekly disbursement.

Re: LTBc, LTBC, LTBCOIN, etc...
@ivanb LetsTalkBitcoinDistributedContentParticipationIncentiveToken :)
LTBc for now is good. In truth though I imagine that to eventually get true mass appeal, LTB will eventually need a rebrand. Hell, it's not exactly like we know that Bitcoin will be around in 3-5 years and not replaced by BlockTrees or something else.
LTBc...for a year - then a revote.
Yes, LTBc
And Yes, LTB needs to rebrand by removing "bitcoin" from the name so as to appeal more broadly.

I loose nothing. I'm completely backed up.

Re: LTBcoin 'reputation staking' linked with account
This is actually being done in a way--you can check users' LTB balances, etc. The only thing is that for people like me, who need the cash, we don't tend to keep a lot of extra LTBC in our wallets. I know that we should hold our investments, but some of us are students. Thus, if I sell my LTBC reward for contributing articles, etc, to eat, it would be sad that this would diminish my "reputation"--or the perks derived from my contribution. I mean, I wouldn't have a problem keeping a nominal amount in my account, but at the same time, I probably wouldn't keep hundreds of thousands of LTBC in my account...
I have to say though, I like the theoretical leap/link you made between conventional staking and reputation staking.

Melotic Issue
Hi guys! I have been playing around with the DEX and Melotic for a while now, and I want to let you know about a half-resolved issue that I had making an LTBC transfer to Melotic. Check out my LTB input address on Melotic's system:
http://blockscan.com/address.aspx?q=1PtZTdqSX6EDS5U9bD49ppqy3AjY8QeGMR
Look at transactions number 1336741 and 1338788. See how in the PREVIOUS transactions, there are paired amounts between "14Z... -> 1PtZ" and "1PtZ -> 1Gzc..." (My XCP LTBC addy -> my MEL input; my MEL input -> Melotic's LTB wallet?)
This pairing happened when I deposited funds to Melotic until the two transactions mentioned (1336741 and 1338788). In that case, I transferred 27,000 but only received a little over 7,000 in my Melotic wallet. I contacted tech support, and they wrote back:
"We have received your problem report. There is some technical problem between our system and counterparty's interface which caused the problem. We are contacting counterparty team for advise. We would fix the problem and make the deposit right.
I noticed you have deposited multiple time before and after this time. It's wired just this one has quantity problem. We would figure it out.
Sorry for the inconvenience."
A day or so later, after I emailed them again to check up on this issue, they rectified the situation:
"We have deposited 19871.38983889 LTBCoin to your account to make it right. Check it and happy trading."
You can see they did this on transaction 1385956.
So, this was the only issue I've had with Melotic so far, and I've done a fair amount of transfers. Melotic was also honest about this, but please be careful to monitor your deposits and withdrawals for correct amounts.
Also, I notice that the system might be changing because recent amounts are no longer paired. I'm not a programmer or a blockchain forensic expert, but I just wanted to share my experiences for the benefit of everyone else.

Re: What happens after the weekly disbursements?
@adam @william There is a BONUS promotion that has been going on for the last three weeks and that ends on Saturday about forum posts. Its only until saturday, but it was only a bonus.
The normal proof-of-participation distributions continue for another five years.
How many LTBC more is the bonus distribution per week (approximately), as compared to the first week's regular weekly distribution?

Re: Ether crowd sale - who's in?
@shawnj well I'm too late.. they opened it yesterday & they're already sold out. now I gotta wait for the first dump lol
It is still open! atm they have sold more than 3400 BTC worth of Ether!!
I was planning to buy some because it is an interesting project and I wanted to be in, but I'm starting to worry there is too much hype.
I agree with this... I mean, if they continue getting $2m+ per day, the market capitalization is going to be HUGE, and it's going to be a huge payday for Vitalik and his crew. I am ambivalent about this thing... Going to wait a few more days. I mean, I'm not an early adopter. It's not like I have tens or hundreds of BTC lying around.

Re: Ether crowd sale - who's in?
@xajaj I don't understand why they don't cap. Anyone have thoughts on this? Is there some other kind of rational that I may be missing or do they just want to "get as much money as possible"?
I think they want as much money as possible. However, in a way there is a sort of predictability because the future minting depends on the funds raised during the crowdsale.
They also want the most money possible to be able to pay the individuals who have been working on the project for months without pay.
I don't dispute that a lot of dev work has gone into eth. of course they did so knowing that they would be paid down the line...

What happens after the weekly disbursements?
So, when the 2.5mil are done going out to the community this week, then what happens? Will there still be LTBcoin that go out, just fewer of them?
Also, as a way to add value to the platform, I think you should reward quality of posts rather than quantity of posts. For example, a person who starts a thread that gets a lot of discussion should get more LTBcoin than someone that starts a spammy thread. Or, a person could get a LTBcoin-bonus for a comment they post that gets a like.
Speaking of spam---I've noticed it start to materialize here. Howe about a "spam" flag that we could use to flag it to a mod?
