  • Re: [IDEA] Music Adspace

The 'Mad Money Machine' episodes finish with a song, which works well. This format could be used with the artist paying for it in LTBcoin. Would the audience miss out by not having the song lovingly selected by the podcaster though? Would the podcaster be able to choose from a bunch of music which people are willing to pay to get aired?

There is also the option of having the music interjected between segments a show (as I think Matt meant), and I think this option is fine too.

  • Re: [IDEA] Music Adspace

When @matt said, "Instead of hearing an ad you hear a short intro and music from a new band for 30-45 seconds", I don't think he meant the intro to the LTB episode. My understanding was that he was talking about using a regular ad space (probably somewhere within the episode), and the music would be briefly introduced.

  • Re: What should be added to the forums?

    Quote from another topic:

@cryptonaut .....Mostly been working on some new features for the site, but a couple more changes pushed up today:

    • Any "Likes" you receive on posts now go towards your weekly Proof of Participation rewards. So if you have a post that receives lots of likes, you get extra LTBcoin that week!.....

It's probably best if the ability to 'like' one's own posts is removed, to stop people being a bit naughty.

@lainfinity True Freedom is neither Master to any nor Slave to none. Only Peers.

I like these quotes. They are worth pondering over for a while I would say.

  • Re: SJCX.XCP - Storj

Looks like they're doing some kind of airdrop? I've not invested, but have been sent 5 SJCX to my LTBcoin address. I assume others will be getting some too. I'd like to say thank you whomever decided to do that. If it was to garner interest it's worked, because I'm about to head over to the website to have a look.

    Edit:

I've just seen the reply to this post from @cryptonaut (see below). It seems I (and we) owe thanks to him for the SJCX. Thanks ever so much cryptonaut!

  • Re: microphone quality guideline for contributions

I had considered creating a topic on this issue also. There is one episode in particular in which I recall the sound being so poor that I had to stop listening and to try again later under better listening conditions. The episode was LTB #111 Building Cathedrals with Cody Wilson & Amir Taaki. The part with Amir wasn't as bad, but Cody Wilson was speaking at Bitcoin Expo Toronto, and that was a challenge to listen to.

@ltbcoin - I agree with your suggestion for maintaining and increasing quality. I was thinking, though, that if there is some really great content but with poor sound, I'd hate to miss out on the content. Perhaps with this ever improving network the audio could be transcribed by someone and presented as a written article instead. The article could be mentioned in an audio episode so that the audience can come and have a look. We could even be offered access here to the poor quality audio, just for completeness and to offer maximum choice for the user. This would avoid putting out a sub-par podcast which could harm the LTB Network.

  • Re: Sponsored Magic Words

@mjroncone Probably around 25% of the recent sponsorship auction, assuming that it comes with something like "this week's magic word brought to you by: x".People are engaged but they care about the word, not the person who chose it.

But what if the magic word is the 'x' from your example above? Or if the sponsor's name is too easy to guess as a magic word it could be the name of one of their products, a feature or something associated with them. The audience would effectively be forced to remember and type in a word which is strongly associated with the sponsor. What better way of getting into your target audience's consciousness?

There have been many times when I've listened to a podcast and intended to check out something mentioned later on. I often forget or just don't get around to it.

If I logged in to claim LTB from the magic word it would remind me about the sponsor and I'd check it out there and then!

Edit: Or what if the magic word is the sponsor's url? Simply go to their website (perhaps after Googling their name) and cut & paste it into the magic word form.

  • Re: Sponsored Magic Words

@benjojo 'And what is the magic word? Mr Venkman?' 'Please!'

Ha ha! I just tried the magic word 'please', but it didn't let me see the storage facility! Seeing as I'm a Ghostbuster, are there any ghosts in Bristol you'd like me to get rid of benjojo? I'll do it for 510,000,000 LTBcoin?

  • Re: Sponsored Magic Words

@matt How much would you pay (in LTBc) to choose the Magic word for an LTB show?

Good idea - things could be promoted this way. @adam?

We'd have to watch out for the magic word being spread around illegitimately.

Could the sponsor pay per claim?

  • Re: MAIDSAFE releases Network Visualizer

@btcblue Is there a way to easily create paper wallets or web wallet for maidsafe? I am not familiar with Mastercoin yet and the coins are still sitting on boloniex.

If I were going to use a web wallet for MaidSafeCoins it'd be the Omniwallet at the moment.

The following is what I believe, but please double check because I don't want to be responsible if I'm wrong!

I don't know about Poloniex, but with Mastercoin assets you can just use a normal Bitcoin paper wallet.

When you want to move your MaidSafeCoins out of the paper wallet you'll just need to import the private key to a wallet such as Omniwallet. There is the option to add a watch-only address to omniwallet as well. It is recommended to use Chrome for the Omniwallet
