  • Re: For the real metal heads out there. Come and enjoy the real metal taste.

Ha, I wondered if this thread might be for people who are into precious metals.

  • Re: Right time to buy in some Bitcoin

@sora I lost $900 worth of BTC when I lost my .dat file, now that was a kick in the pants since I bought them at the $100 level :(

How'd that happen? I figure it might be a lesson for the rest of us.

  • Re: [Closed][Auction] Air time on Let's Talk Bitcoin! Two 45 Second Sponsorship Slots for Episode #132 due to air 8/02. Auction Closes at 6:00 PM PST on 8/01! Current High Bid: 72,000 / 60,250 LTBc

Always an exciting finish for this auction!

  • Re: LTBc Faucet

I have no clue on the questions, but great idea, and great you're executing it.

  • Re: What are you invested in?

    @dpc

I'm no expert, but I think Litecoin has a lot of hashing power protecting the network, and is perceived to be well-designed (less likely to have bugs). Apparently the Devs have helped with Bitcoin code too, and seem like very solid people (who we actually know). And the coin has a relatively l long track record. I mean, it was THE altcoins for awhile... All that said, I don't know if it's a great investment.

  • Re: [CLOSED] Auction for 1 Hour of Adam B. Levine's Time

Just wanted to give the thread a bump today. You can have an hour of Adam B. Levine's undivided attention via Skype! A bid of 25K LTBc is trading at a Bitcoin equivalent of about $42.50 at the moment. Anyone think Adam's time is worth that, and have a reason to want to talk to him? Don't be shy, place a bid!

Don't have enough LTBc? You can go to Melotic.com to trade Bitcoin for it. Or I can help make it happen if you're short on LTBc and don't want to use an exchange. I can accept your BTC or USD (via PayPay) and pay my own LTBc to Adam on your behalf (though, to be frank, I'd rather hang on to my LTBcoin).

This may sound odd, but I just love listening to Jeffrey speak. Feel free to pass that along.

  • Re: Do you have a Circle wallet?

Ahhh, here's why $50 was mentioned:

  • Re: Do you have a Circle wallet?

@hesham3del This is the 2nd I hear about it in a couple of days.

What is so unique about it ?

Can I still open this wallet, and could you elaborate please by being very cool wallet ?

Go sign up at Circle.com, then wait (and wait and wait) for an invite.

I like that I bought Bitcoin for the first time with a credit card, thanks to Circle. The BTC was available pretty much immediately. They must have some good fraud detection, perhaps based on asking for an address, birthdate, and last 4 of a social. That, or they don't mind losing some funds due to fraud in exchange for gaining market share and a good reputation. Seems like the paradigm used to be that paying for Bitcoin with a credit card was impractical, due to fraud risk and the irreversibility of Bitcoin payments.

Also, I believe accounts are covered by insurance! That seems like an interesting benefit to an online wallet! I really was curious to see how a well-funded, more mainstream business would handle Bitcoin. And as most have said, their wallet and interface seems pretty slick and easy. And zero fees on Bitcoin buying and selling, unlike most other sources. I may make future Bitcoin buys on Circle rather than Coinbase (I used to be more of a limit order buyer on exchanges, but it's been awhile).

And yeah, they had a promotion to sign up, and get $10 of Bitcoin when they (finally) invite you to start using their service. But I think that promotion might be over. I hadn't heard about $50.

Two Bit Idiot liked and detailed his experience here: http://two-bit-idiot.tumblr.com/post/91994263494/circles-wallet-is-legit

  • Re: Stellar - New Crypto by Stripe

@mike While I'm not the biggest fan of Jed either, his results speak for themselves.

    So, second biggest fan?

I don't have a strong opinion about him either way, but he's definitely a crypto-doer, and doesn't seem like a scammer.
