    @tintin

    @pooktwo

    @tintin A lot of new games coming to linux atm, check out SteamOS sales.

    You let me know when starcrafts on there and i will throw my windows out the f***in window!

    (pun was very intended)

    True that, you can try wine though: http://www.nosuchthingastwo.com/blog/2014/04/28/starcraft-ii-on-ubuntu-14-04/

    It typically has a lot of bugs but it is worth the try.

    I worked on trying to get starcraft via wine for like 5 months and always came up with resolution and color issues. Its no good sadly :(

  • Re: Windows or MacOS X or Linux?

    @javierasis I use Windows and I've also used IOS. I would like to install Linux on an old acer aspire laptop I have but I'm not too technical and I haven't found the time to go through all the information available online, there is a lot to be understood for me.

    If someone reading this has got any clue of where should I go to get simple instructions to install Linux, I appreciate his / her indications. For what I understand Linux is the OS that we all should use to increase security and privacy around the internet.

    Thank you all.

    I would love to help you set up a linux distribution :) Please give me sometime to put together a good step by step guide and I will post it here :)

  • Re: The song about the man who fixed the computers

    Kids are funny and see the hidden truth inside of things like that. A guy I worked with was telling me a story about his daughter. At dinner one night, his daughter didn't finish her food, and my friend said:

    Friend: "Me and your mom work very hard to put food on your plate, you need to finish"

    Kid: "But I dont like the taste of it"

    Friend: "That doesnt matter, we work hard so you can eat. Many people less fortunate then us have to dig through the garbage to eat"

    Kid: "Ok"

    Days later, my friends daughter told him that she threw away her lunch and just ate the cookie at school:

    Friend: "Why did you throw your food away? You cannot just eat a cookie, its not enough for you, you need good food as well."

    Kid: "But dad, I just wanted to give food to the people who are more poor then us. Now when they dig through the garbage they will find a good sandwich to eat"

  • Re: Bryce Weiner tips ISIS

    @rob I've heard a few podcasts with Bryce and follow him on Twitter. He makes a lot of strong statements that aren't always popular. I've heard him diss Bitcoin and say what a mistake Patrick Byrne made by deciding to use Counterparty to power Medici (maybe Patrick ended up agreeing?). Anyway, not sure what to say about the tip to ISIS, but I was interested to see his name pop up here. His sometimes extreme opinions have made me think he might be an interesting podcast guest for the LTB audience.

    He is indeed an interesting fellow and not very nice :( But i cant deny that he is smart, whether if one agrees with him or not.

    And it is a touchy subject on if this was freedom of speech or not as it deals with an organization (ISIS) that does some terrible things in the middle east. But the argument of this being applied to something like supporting snowden is valid, as someone could get in the same amount of trouble.

    So i guess here is my conclusion to this: Bitcoin is great because we can fund people like snowden without the governments approval or even knowledge and avoid the controversy, the downside is organizations like ISIS can share this same benefit, just like child molesters use the internet for sex trafficking. So it would not be fair to shutdown the internet or bitcoin (if you even could) just because of a few bad apples.

    However, if you openly donate to ISIS or a child molester you would have to pay the price because you have openly done so and made yourself a target as it is provable that you have done so. so if you do not punish someone for doing something like this, then what is to stop someone for sarcastically donating $1000 to ISIS and claiming free speech? $1 wont go very far, but $1000 would

    Just like every good revolution throughout history, for us to support someone like snowden, or to get the US government to stay out of our private lives, major actions (like financial support) must be done from the shadows and not in the open, but openly talking about change and abuse of power can continue to be done in the open to spread the ideals of freedom to the masses. People would get behind a movement that actually does things to make change happen, not someone who makes fun of the system in an unproductive way.

    Though this last paragraph has some issues within itself, i would love to keep this conversation going because there is indeed problems to both sides of the argument
