Re: JEDI, how can we innovate radio?
@matt Radio is a great medium for distribution of content but is stagnant and dying, how can we make it more interactive with using things like User Created Assets i.e. LTBCOIN?
To make SOAP first we render fat.
Use the force.
Something cool that I reported on recently was an online station called Chain Radio that is in the pipe. I've asked Rockstar and a few of the other people involved with it to drop by here and they promised me that as soon as they are done hammering out a few more details they would take a break and check out the cool community i told them about.
I will be interested to see what they think.

Re: BTC Consumption
@kerneloops My enthusiasm and participation level ebbs and flows, partly because of a random work schedule, both in weekdays and time of day, and partly due to the overall atmosphere in the Bitcoin community at a given time. After a media blitz of bad news for a few weeks, like the likes of Mt.Gox, Silk Road or NeoBee shutdown, I tend to withdraw and not care much about bitcoins' where/what/when/how, but once the bad-news-wave passes (as it always does), I'm back on Reddit, LTB etc to put some good vibes in storage for the next low point in the Bitcoin space. I'm quite comfortably past the "if" of Bitcoin, so most of my interest revolves around Bitcoin 2.0 of which the LTB network does a good job of following.
I started mining with GPU's mid-2013, and initially it consumed all of my days off, trying to configure and tweak for optimal hashrate/temp/fan noise while maintaining system stability and so on, but with the onset of pretty much plug-and-play of modern ASICs like Antminer S1 etc. mining has become sort of boring. I still partake, but it doesn't give me the tickles of building a rig, tweaking and running it. And no, none of my mining ventures have really had a positive ROI...
I've noticed that lots of interest ebbs and flows with the good news and the bad news. Just a quick look at the Google trends charts shows that when bad news is happening it peaks and I have noticed the trolls come out but the regulars kind of taper off a bit on reddit and a few other places.
I completely agree that the days of mining being "fun" are basically over with the advent of ASICS. I have them but they aren't as fun as building, tweaking and testing all of the time.
That was one of the major reasons I enjoyed the mining side of things was because of the interesting technical challenges that it would provide.

Re: BTC Consumption
@coinfire
@coinfire Howdy,
It certainly seems that when you first learn about Bitcoin you have to spend a lot of time learning about Bitcoin, and then you become sucked in to Bitcoin.
I think that suggesting one is "sucked in" is quite misleading.
When I learned of Bitcoin it was yet-another-interesting-tech-thing until about 6 months later May of last year, when I realized I wanted to know a lot more. I started to research in my spare time, and then taking time from my regular schedule to explore more possibilities, until about 1.5 months ago when I determined Bitcoin would be my working life focus.
I still feel like I am in preparation mode for many things that are yet to come, and basic education in the changing Bitcoin world is essential for those of us who are dedicated to mainstream adoption.
How or where I make, or spend, my time and money is normally a personal conversation, but I can understand why you might want to know. I make time by being as physically fit as possible with exercise and diet. I make my income by providing value to those who see the value. See DAVACOIN for more info.

Getting sucked in isn't necessarily a bad thing though :)
You are correct, no one has to answer any of these questions for sure. It is just interesting to see what people do have to say though regarding it.
Just checked out DAVACOIN and that is a really cool idea with potential for other applications as well.
Instead of selling shares in a company or an idea you are literally selling shares in yourself and that indeed is an interesting concept!
Yes. I got sucked into Rock and Roll in 1959 and I can't image what kind of a dull life I would have led for the past 5 decades if I hadn't. You are correct, Coinfire. Getting sucked in can be a good thing!
Send me a private mail at [email protected] because I can't find a PM function on this forum.
I would like to discuss with you "potential for other applications" that have been rattling around in my head.
If Counterparty was a bit faster I would have all the MARBLES and all the PEANUTS by now "-)
I am adding sending you an email to my to-do list right now! I hope I can get to it in the next few hours but the way things just keep coming it might be a day or so.
I'm excited to talk with you further about it!

Re: BTC Consumption
@grandma Bitcoin is a good obsession.
I couldn't agree with this statement more. Do you feel the other cryptocurrencies are worth some of your time as well?
