Coin Fire DDOS Attack Underway
Coin Fire is currently experiencing a massive DDOS attack.
This attack is unlike any other DDOS attack we have ever encountered.
We aren't the only site suffering from this attack at this time as it seems to be targeting several cryptocurrency related sites including Piece of Bit, Chain Radio and for a time even the FTL radio site.
We have been paying members of CloudFlare for sometime and this attack seems to be zeroing in past the standard CloudFlare protections by hitting our content management system WordPress.
We've been working actively with our hosting providers for the last several hours as we continue banning new IP addresses and even disabling large portions of our WordPress install to combat this attack.
We've deployed several new CDN machines, we've deployed several blacklists to stop new IPs that continue cropping up and even gone as far as blocking several massive IP ranges and even entire ISPs in an effort to regain site functionality.
Ourselves, Chain Radio, Piece of Bit and upwards of 25 other sites are seeing massive slow-downs or even page load failures and the common element is that we are all WordPress users and all cryptocurrency sites.
I wanted to drop an update in here as to why our site is failing at this time and assure everyone we are working very diligently and if necessary through the night to resolve this issue and hope to be back soon.

Re: PayPal Joins the Bitcoin Train
@adonai sound's good, and what about e-bay? it's the similar company with PP, if i right.
maybe we should prepare to big changes in bitcoin online-wallets services. from one corner it's looks like PP whant to identify users of bitcoin wallets. i understand that it's fraud problem of PayPal, but personal identification is out of cc conception.
We should expect the standard KYC requirements with wallets such as the one PayPal will be using Coinbase to power.

Re: Is Paypal/Braintree About to Accept Bitcoin?

... our v.zero SDK will make it seamless for developers and merchants to add bitcoin to their existing payment methods and provide an elegant, adaptive user interface for consumers to pay in bitcoin with their Coinbase wallet ..."
I sure hope this isn't the beginning of a fragmented bitcoin wallet ecosystem. Have a coinbase or a personal wallet? Oh sorry, that won't work. Paypal is only compatible with a Coinbase wallet.
The good news is that it will work with all wallets in the end. We happen to have a pretty good source on that ;)

Re: Satoshi's email got hacked
MSM will get this story, run it like you wouldn't believe just to cause more damage and prices will decline.
I'm curious as to how this is going to play out for sure.

Hive Removing App Store In Next Update

Hive’s OS X and Android wallets have featured an App Store for some time now that allowed third-party developers the ability to hook in and create applications with the Hive wallet.
Today we are learning though that Hive will be removing the feature from the Hive OS X and Android wallets with the next update of each respective platform’s software.

What do you think of this change?
I never really used the app store stuff in Hive because it did always seem like it would be gone right around the time I started to enjoy something on it.

Re: Is Paypal/Braintree About to Accept Bitcoin?
@wildjo At least one source is reporting now that Braintree will assist customers in accepting Bitcoin. See:

Now that the embargo is broken anyways: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/paypal-joins-the-bitcoin-train

PayPal Joins the Bitcoin Train

Braintree will very shortly announce that it is beginning with a bitcoin integration in to the BrainTree Payments Platform that will allow merchants and vendors to tap in to the one tap purchasing power of PayPal.
The company will also reveal today the new PayPal One Touch integration with Braintree that will allow merchants to begin using a platform agnostic system to accept payments from end users instantly. The system is slated to compete directly with Apple’s upcoming payment platform in that it will operate on a wide variety of devices.

What are your thoughts? This is another payments platform bringing bitcoin as a checkout option.
Will this have a positive or negative impact on the price?
