crazy! I think the real news though will be once the CEO guy at the conference is finished speaking
Definitely looks like an official video, although there seem to be many fewer voices during that line than the ones that immediately surround it. Account looks official.
If Paypal enables users to accept Bitcoin, do you think they'd do it pass-through (Buyer spends bitcoin, seller recieves it) or like Bitpay (Spend bitcoin, recieve dollars)
Another question is would official apps that support bitcoin alongside paypal reduce or eliminate the chargeback incompatability between the two protocols, if bitcoin and paypal tx could be trusted to not be reversed it would open up a very large market for buying/selling btc for paypal.
My guess is that this is just Braintree integration. And Paypal wants to look cool by associating the ability to accept bitcoin with their brand.
I think something might be under embargo right now potentially.
At least one source is reporting now that Braintree will assist customers in accepting Bitcoin. See:

Now that the embargo is broken anyways: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/paypal-joins-the-bitcoin-train
That is huge. Do you think we will hear tomorrow the word "bitcoin" at Apple's keynote?
Great news for bitcoin in general although I would love to see full integration into paypal and not just into braintree. I have a feeling that is coming but they are at least testing the water so to speak.
I'm surprised to see 2 of bitcoin's competitors, apple and paypal, jumping on board so early. they've hardly been pushed out by bitcoin's market share at this point.. does anyone know why they're not taking a "dinosaur incumbent" approach, and instead jumping on with the early adopters? do they know something we don't? are they planning to co-opt it somehow? or am I just paranoid? lol
The announcement is out, on Braintree's blog:

"While we’re focused on giving people more seamless buying experiences, we’re also fierce advocates of giving merchants -- and in turn their customers -- flexibility and the freedom of choice. That’s why today, we also announced that we’ll enable our customers to easily accept bitcoin in the coming months via a partnership with Coinbase -- a trusted, high quality bitcoin payment processor with 1.6M consumer wallets and 36,000 merchants globally. As we make bitcoin available, our v.zero SDK will make it seamless for developers and merchants to add bitcoin to their existing payment methods and provide an elegant, adaptive user interface for consumers to pay in bitcoin with their Coinbase wallet (request access to the upcoming beta)."
