Re: Stellar - New Crypto by Stripe
Darn -- you beat me to it. It is a carbon copy of Stellar. It launched all of 30 minutes ago. Jed -- one of the cofounders of Ripple basically said "screw you" to Ripple Labs for the way they were directing Ripple. He copypasta'd it (essentially) and launched it with a non-profit at the head instead of a business.
Also -- for anyone interested -- part of the initial giveaway is to send 1000 stellar to an entity and receive another 1000 in return. If you sign up, send the 1000 stellar my way (username: mjroncone) and I'll send 500 back.
Just ping me with your Stellar username here and I'll shoot it back.
(win-win for us both. You get 1500 in return instead of 1000 and I get 500. Cheers!)
launch.stellar.org is the sign-up portal

Re: What's the deal with Xapo?
From what I've seen they seem to be pretty legit. I haven't used them but I know they're pretty well ingrained in the community. For example, I know that Coinsetter announced recently that all of their funds are now Xapo secured.

Re: Feature request - multiple quotes
Yes, you can do that. Just click the quote button. For example, I will quote all three posts in this thread now.
First:
@hesham3del Hello,
Can we have "multiple quotes" here or it's difficult ?
Second:
@mike You already can. Just click the quote button multiple times.
Either that or I've misunderstood what you're looking for.
Third:
@mike You already can. Just click the quote button multiple times.
Either that or I've misunderstood what you're looking for.
I think you mis-understood me bro.
Lets say I've 5 comments on a topic of mine.
I want to multi-quote them so I reply to them in 1 single reply.
Like I said, you just keep clicking "quote" where and when you want it.
You can even multilayer them, as you can see in the case of the third quote.

Re: Your Favourite Exchanges
I'm actually still a fan of Bitstamp. I have a bit of background with them from my time with Ripple.

Re: See the difference scams hosting
Yeah, probably a good idea to give some background instead of just opening up a thread about scams and posting links. I wouldn't recommend anyone open a link that is in a thread without context.

Re: Using technical analysis on Bitcoin
Agree with your points about keeping it simple. Been through the whole load up 100 indicators phase myself and lost find of money until I learned to keep it simple. I basically trade trends with support and resistance alone. Learn I simple entry trigger or two using a basic indicator and you are set. Oh unless you can't manage your trades and keep emotions at bay. The most important part of trading IMO
I think we've all been there. I'm the same way. Half the time I won't even really draw up support and resistance, I just look at what the past few periods of price have done and interpret what that sounds like, if the market were still based on open outcry.
I think being able to see/hear a viable market-story is a huge aspect of using TA successfully. Otherwise it's just all noise.

Re: overstock on counterparty
Very, very cool. I love when captains of industry actually step forward and take risks.
It's a pretty darn interesting time to be involved in all crypto-stuff. That's really all this keeps boiling down to.

Re: Using technical analysis on Bitcoin
I've used TA in trading for a number of years -- the key thing is to not believe in TA for the sake of TA. Every iteration or interpretation of TA is based on market behavior which is driven by the people on the other side of the screen (even those computers -- they were programmed by people).
Everything in TA can basically be boiled down to 10-ish basic market principles about reversals, momentum, etc. It has certainly helped me in my entry points for bitcoin and I have had mixed success with it in other capital markets.
The bitcoin market actually trades (or at least is did previously) more technical than any market I have ever seen. Timing can still be a bit of an issue, and often times you will find yourself standing on the train tracks. However, if you are in it for small steady trades then TA has actually shown me to be especially useful for bitcoin.

Re: What do you think about the Bitcoin Foundation and their new website?
I think it look really nice. Definitely a big step up from their previous website, and it conforms to the typical type of flashy website that a lot of users come to expect by now.
It should help newcomers to bitcoin view the foundation with more legitimacy.
