Up for auction are two (2) blocks of forty-five (45) second intervals in this coming week's first episode of Let's Talk Bitcoin! Episode #129 will be released on Tuesday the 22nd, and whether or not your business/project will be a part of it is up to you.
Bidding will start at 10k LTBc.
This auction will end at 7:00 PM PST on Monday, July the 21st. Any bids submitted after that time but before closure of the thread will not be considered. A bid on the close as logged by the post's official time stamp (in this case, 7:00 PM) is a valid bid, however 7:01 is not. The top two overall bids in the thread will be awarded slots 1 and 2, respectively.
What exactly am I bidding on?
The two slots fill scheduled breaks in the episode. Adam will do his own research on your business/project and will spend approximately 45 seconds talking about what you do. Adam reserves the right to veto any winning bids if he feels that doing a live read for your project would not be mutually beneficial. No scripts will be accepted. If you want him to focus on a particular area of your project, mention it with your bid.
Please state your bid in LTBc along with what project you are bidding on behalf of. (a link would be nice)
Please note that you will receive no editorial control for your winning bid. The live read will be approximately 45 seconds but no guarantees are made for it to be exactly that length of time.
What if I'm the winning bid?
After you receive confirmation that you have won, please remit payment in LTBc to the following address: 16mtsJE29zY5Rw2c4XunVFeg7DmbGedS9M
Payment will be expected by 12:00 AM Pacific Time (Midnight) the day that the auction is closed. if you cannot meet this deadline, please state so ahead of time. If we have not heard from you or received payment by then, we will assume that you are defaulting and your slot will be given to the next bidder in line.
What kinds of people sponsor the show?
Lots of people! Here are a few of our recent sponsors:
- Bitofthis LTB Ad Broker - http://www.bitofthis.com/ltb-advertising-broker.html
- Coin Fire - http://coinfire.cf/
- BitShares - http://bitshares.org/
- Myriad - http://www.myriadcoin.org/
- ShinyBadges - http://muslimagorist.com/products/shiny-badges
- Brawker - https://brawker.com/
- Bitcoin Foundation - https://bitcoinfoundation.org/
- Crypto for Change Blog
- Bitcoin Megaphone - http://bitcoinmegaphone.com/
- Bitmain No-preorder ASICs - https://bitmaintech.com/
- You! (hopefully, anyway...)
But I'm new to LTB, I don't have any LTBcoin!
Well, you can purchase it from the private market currently either at Melotic (https://www.melotic.com/markets/ltbcoin-btc) or through a Counterparty Counterwallet (https://www.counterparty.co/ and https://counterwallet.co/)
There are also LTB ad brokers such as Bitofthis (@bcohen or http://www.bitofthis.com/ltb-advertising-broker.html ) which you can see was one of our previous sponsors! They will use their own LTBc reserves to bid on your behalf and the two of you can settle up later.
Feel free to ask for clarification on any of the above points, or any other questions you may have in this thread. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible.

Re: Editors' Communication Thread
@rotalumis @btcbandit @dhimmel
I have added both btcbandit and dhimmel to the editing trello. Also added these five articles.
Might be easier to just transition it to Trello so we can see it all done real-time without searching through posts.
Edit -- Just in case, I've claimed Bitcoin Roundup #1

Using LTBcoins to pay writers for Cryptopic
Though we are glad that you are using LTB as a platform for this, it's not quite what I meant. Adam has "hired" individuals to take on roles and responsibilities for/within the community. These are the people we are trying to get set up.
@crimsonroze Trello: Jonathan Silverblood
Although I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do there.
Are you serving as an editor? I thought I saw you in that thread having edited something. If not, you can ignore all of this! Sorry!

Re: New York Regulation - What Does it Mean for LTBcoin?
I would also add that LTB does not associate LTBc in any way to a value aside from itself. Others may do so, but it is not the intent of LTB. LTBc has value because the community has value, etc. Not because it is an actual investment in the website.

Re: [CLOSED][Auction] Air time on Let's Talk Bitcoin! Two 45 Second Sponsorship Slots for Episode 128 due to air 7/18. Auction Closes at Noon on 7/17! (12:00 pm PST) Final Bid(s): 31,000 / 30,250 LTBc
As @adam stated above, the official decision is that bids on the close are valid. In this case, the auction closed at 12:00 pm so a timestamp of 12:00 is valid, but 12:01 is not. As such, the final standings are as follows:
Slot 1: 32,000 LTBcoin from @coinfire for Coin Fire
Slot 2: 31,000 LTBc from @strip for Bitshares
First Runner-up: 30,250 LTBc from @bcohen for Myriad/Bitofthis LTB Ad Broker (75/25 split)
Second Runner-up: 20,000 LTBc from @prismicide for http://igg.me/at/prismicide
Other previous bidders: @dgiors and @robmitchell
However, because @coinfire is a stand up guy, he has agreed to concede his winning bid to @bcohen for two reasons: 1. bcohen's client wants a specific kind of episode of which this will be the last for a while. 2. bcohen even mentioned that this was a terrible time to end an auction, which I agree. I was also at work when this auction closed which is why final confirmation took so long.
This does not mean that anyone can rescind their bid at any time going forward. This was a special case between two repeat supporters of the show and I thank @coinfire for being considerate.
With that being said, the official standings will be as follows:
Slot 1: 31,000 LTBc from @strip for Bitshares
Slot 2: 30,250 LTBc from @bcohen for Myriad/Bitofthis LTB Ad Broker (75/25 split)
First Runner-up: 20,000 LTBc from @prismicide
Second Runner-up: 17,000 LTBc from @CoinFire for Coin Fire (thanks again, bud)
Other previous bidders: @dgiors and @robmitchell
Congratulations to the two winners @strip and @bcohen ! Please remit payment to the address stated in the OP as soon as possible.

@strip 20,500 for Bitshares
You're now the second highest bid @ 20,500 with just over 20 minutes left in the auction. Good luck!
The current standings are:
Slot 1: 30,250 LTBc from @bcohen for Myriad/Bitofthis LTB Ad Broker (75/25 split)

Re: Does LTBcoin require fiat to survive?
@adam Things don't begin life at maturity. They start new and small, through the process of learning and doing they grow both by necessity and nature. You don't ask a child to earn a paycheck, you let it play, give it time and soon enough you get there.
Well said. It is far to early to state that a market price has been established, in my opinion.
The only ways we have to even conceptualize a market price is through the auctions we have running for advertising space. Through that you could derive a sample fair value based on comparable sales in fiat/bitcoin but even then that doesnt take into account future plans for the coin or website as a whole. There isn't nearly enough trading to state that market value has been realized. On top of that, the whole program is too new to even fool ourselves into thinking it has any sort of actual market value.

Re: Sponsored Magic Words
Probably around 25% of the recent sponsorship auction, assuming that it comes with something like "this week's magic word brought to you by: x".People are engaged but they care about the word, not the person who chose it.
