  • Re: LTB Web API

    @cryptonaut nice - easy to get my user info

    but when I started digging for my articles, I noticed this one is surely never gonna be a good thing to have is it? /api/v1/blog/posts?categories=27

    I could've cooked dinner while all that was being fetched & returned, and it's still early days

    I was looking for the {post_id} for mine - could it not return a summary (if stored in DB) or first n characters?

  • Re: Stellar - New Crypto by Stripe

    Sorry @mike not buying that line about FB. They make that claim, true, but why then do I need to grant them access to my friends list?

    I'm with @dpc on this - somewhere betwen skeptical and suspicious - everything about this seems sloppy and careless. Yes, much like the original MTGox and that fine decision to turn his company over to Mark Karpeles.

    note: and yet I got my stellars and sent 1000 to @Mike Guess I'm a suspicious opportunist...

  • Re: Stellar - New Crypto by Stripe

    Mike you convinced me. Going back and trying it, so I'll know what you're talking about when I read your article :)

  • Re: Stellar - New Crypto by Stripe

    I got disgusted and did not finish the process to get my free 5000 Stellar. First grimace came when they emailed the access code to my account in cleartext, then the coup de gras was requiring access to my Facebook account.

    I was mildly curious when I initially signed up like a month ago, but there are too many truly interesting things out there - I am just not that curious to warrant jumping through these particular hoops. Stellar - truly a misnomer.

  • Re: Editors' Communication Thread

    Mainstream works just fine @cherapple.

  • Re: Editors' Communication Thread

    @cherapple it's fine. I feel like that heading really needs to say "View from Main Street" though, as in how it looks from any generic place.

    I suppose the other 2 places matter less, in fact in the beginning of "Enter the Entrepreneurs" in that first paragraph, "mainstream" surely fits better than the "main street" that I wrote.

    And thank you for the help!

  • Re: Counterwallet.co Issues?

    They seem to have a nasty bug or two. When exchanging tokens for BTC on their platform (which often takes days for thinly traded assets) if the order is cancelled the tokens just seem to disappear. Happened to me twice. I won't be moving any one token into any other again.

    And where are the competitors anyway? Offline wallet anyone?

  • Re: Issue with the sheer volume of LTB podcasts

    I like the amount of choice we have. I stopped listening to a couple of them because my areas of interest are limited. So I see no problem having as many as possible - they will explore ever narrower niches, and go deeper and deeper. Ignore those that offer you little value.

    @rotalumis

    @cherapple @mdw

    In the post you submitted (http://letstalkbitcoin.com/dashboard/blog-post/edit/484), you use the phrase "Main Street" several times throughout. Do you mean to say "mainstream"? Per Merriam-Webster:

    mainstream: having, reflecting, or being compatible with the prevailing attitudes and values of a society or group

    Main Street (adj.): of or relating to the mediocre, materialistic, or drab aspects of average U.S. town and city life

    Please clarify.

    Thank you. Cheryl

    I don't remember the article offhand, but he's probably referring to this: http://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/mainstreet.asp

    @rotalumis Thank you for clearing that up. I was not aware of that usage. Perhaps the general reader won't be either? In any case, I'm glad to know of Investopedia for use as a resource in the future.

    @cherapple thanks for noticing - I should probaby try to not repeat words as much. Yes, as @rotalumis said I meant to refer to the average Joe, not the VCs or others mentioned. Seems I used mainstream only once, and probably could have worked it in again. I think you're right though, in some parts it could have been reworded to say mainstream - as in what it looks like to my Mom. Use your best judgement :)

  • Re: urgent feature request: private messaging

    I've wanted the same. But until then, putting an email address in profile at least gives people a way to reach you. You could also get clever and put some other contact info into your "location" or "signature" like a bitmessage address.
