Hey guys/gals, my name is Matt and I've been studying bitcoin behind the scenes since it's 2010. I'm a materials scientist, UI/UX designer and entrepreneur. I formally worked as a process engineer specializing in the development of thin film material.

In a recent former life I worked in a team of two to develop a hybrid social network that combined core attributes of twitter and facebook into a localized network. Unfortunately, the idea never took as it happens with most social startups. Since then I've spent a large amount of my time studying cryptocurrencies and the problems we need to solve in order to eliminate friction in adoption. I feel the world needs easier ways to mine cryptographic currencies that are outside of computational mining, which is what has led me to LTBcoin.

  • Podcast Playlists and TCV Use Case

Given the complexity of Bitcoin and the immense amount of information @Adam has done a wonderful job curating. I feel it might be ideal to incorporate standard playlists that would allow entry level users to have an easy way to get to know Bitcoin, security, trading, altcoins, meta coins and so forth. This might also be an excellent use case for TCV as well. New users could be asked some basic questions to determine what they know about Bitcoin the information is then curated appropriately via token(s) supplied by the LTB network. As the user becomes more informed of the technology new information becomes available. This creates a learning path or "rabbit hole effect" for people new to Bitcoin instead of just overwhelming them with the latest news in the industry.

    Thoughts?

  • Re: Is Master Matt Cryptic?

@spengler The JEDI master, is he enigmatic?

    Does he have an agenda?

Does he prefer Star Wars or Fight Club?

He suggested I free my mind, so why am I frantically asking questions?

At which end should we open bananas?

What is the purpose of JEDI?

@ademczuk Upon receiving notification that I had been distributed coin from letstalkbitcoin.com my spirits were lifted, only to be crushed by another spamcoin. There really should be an option to opt-out of publicly displaying your address.

    Spamcoin this is not. ;)

    Patience, must learn patience.

  • Re: The Red Pill Episode

Bitcoin has so many layers to it it's difficult to explain. I try to use analogies in order to explain the basic concepts such as playing the lottery with your computer to win something like digital gold, since it's a finite digital resource. People value bitcoin because it requires capital, energy and time to create. I also refer to it like the dollar 2.0 since it's a currency which has it's own built-in banking and transactional network, VISA + dollars (no paper required).

I just read this post tonight and I actually bought up the redpill bluepill assets the other day... lol

  • Re: [NEW SHOW FORMING - APPLICANTS NEEDED] NAME THAT BLOCKCHAIN!

@adam Right now I'm the creator and publisher, I'll fill whatever roles we have a hard time populating.

You can take community manager role.

What sort of timeline are we looking at for debuting the show?

  • Re: [NEW SHOW FORMING - APPLICANTS NEEDED] NAME THAT BLOCKCHAIN!

    Wow what a great idea!

    @adam

This sounds like a lot of fun. I'd be interested in taking on the community manager role. Are you planning on taking on any roles?

  • Re: How do you add a profile picture?

For all those who don't know it's available in your "Account Settings" NOT your "Profile Settings".

  • Re: Three Form Identity

@crimsonroze This is probably the most genius strike of simplicity that gives value to users that I've seen in a long time.

    Let me explain:

I regulary post comments on the coindesk.com articles and I am well aware that some of my comments are well thought out while others are more like requests for comments - on my comment.

Whenever I get unsure about whether what I am about to say could either reflect on me badly or I'm unsure if it goes with my moral beliefs or not I tend to use random aliases for the comments instead of my real name.

This use case is something that I've maintained for a couple of months now and it's really opened me up to expressing questions and doubts about myself and my moral believes that I would not have allowed myself to openly discuss otherwise.

Today I posted my first article for the LTB network and as a result I decided that I need to change from being a lurker who scours this forum for evening leisure to a more proper profile and went ahead and changed my real name entry, my avatar from one of my cats to an image of myself and double-checked that my account now reflects me as the person I want to be when posting serious content on the LTB network.

This however means I've locked myself up as a publisher and should I gain a reputation I would then need to defend it and my ability to take standpoints which might be against my moral values for the sake of exploring the basic underlying arguments is now severely weakened.

Implementing multiple options for how I post (with different avatars!) might just be enough to allow me to test and see who "me" really is in the future, without having to put all of my identities at stake.

Great post. All I have to say is there's a reason why superheroes hid their identities ;)

  • Re: BTC Consumption

    @coinfire

@jshow5555 Big % of my time too.

What sort of things are you doing with that time? Looking up prices? Researching and reading? The news? Forums? All of the above?

The function of the 1n3 is now to return to the s0urce, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code you carry, reinserting the prime program.
