  • Re: Article Stats

    I'd also love that.

    I've seen in the source code LTB is using google analytics, so it should be possible to make some data public. I'm not sure now if GA has the option or if it should be done via creating a custom automated report and publishing it, but it should not be really difficult. The issue is that they may prefer to keep some data private because it is a lot of information to give to competitors!

  • Re: Using technical analysis on Bitcoin

    I would love to learn more about TA out of curiosity, but I'm a bit wary because I'm more a buy and hold kind of guy and I'm not planning to change now :)

    One of the things that make me uncomfortable with TA and BTC is that everyone who talks about it says he is doing amazing. I simply can't believe it. It reminds me to a time when I had a couple of friends with gambling problems. They were always killing it. Only the weren't and they were just lying to me and to themselves. If I saw more losses (honesty!) I think I would be a bigger believer :)

    Anyway, whenever I want data or a graph, the best resource I've found is: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/

  • Re: Your Favourite Exchanges

    I use mostly Kraken (EUR/BTC with SEPA transfers) and Bitfinex (USD/BTC and USD/DRK).

  • Re: Issue with the sheer volume of LTB podcasts

    @therealtwig

    @ronnibitcoinz Listen at 2x. That's what I do

    haha...listening that fast would sound like Adam and the Chipmunks!

    I also do that and it sounds surprisingly good. I'm not a native English speaker, so when the topic is very dense I go down to 1.5x to have more time to process/translate.

    Also, I've learnt to skip chapters. It hurts in the beginning, but when you get used it is really liberating.

  • Re: If your computer crashed now, how many coins would you loose?

    @pthed My best understanding of the situation is that if the computer I usually use completely dies with all my data on it to, then I will lose 0 bitcoins. If my rarely used laptop computer with Bitcoin Core dies along with all it's accompanying data, then I still think I am covered with a backup of my wallet.dat file, but if I am mistaken about that . . . then less than 1.1 bitcoins will have gone to the great (fill in bitcoin witticism here) in the sky.

    As a side note anybody have any good metaphors or turns of phrase for lost bitcoins and where they go? I love creative language and it's application to everyday phenomenon to make quotidian life a little more piquant.

    Lost bitcoins go to hashven. There they have great refrigeration an unlimited supply of electricity.

  • Re: Bitcoin: Help ease my concerns

    Maybe I'm over optimistic, but I see a future for Bitcoin and for a few more cryptos. There will be problems down the road and maybe Bitcoin won't be the most innovative one, but having the advantage it already has I believe it will be the standard for a very long time.

  • Re: Ether crowd sale - who's in?

    @shawnj well I'm too late.. they opened it yesterday & they're already sold out. now I gotta wait for the first dump lol

    It is still open! atm they have sold more than 3400 BTC worth of Ether!!

    I was planning to buy some because it is an interesting project and I wanted to be in, but I'm starting to worry there is too much hype.

  • Re: What's your favorite altcoin?

    @itsaboutsharing I'm holding some XMR (Monero), XCP and I am eying what the app coins do. By far though, especially since the Lawsky announcement, I am in Monero. Cryptonote seems like the clear cut winner for anonymity on it's own merit. It blows out of the water what DRK and non Crpytonote coins do as far as anonymising.

    I'm excited to see what Ethereum/Ether do when out. I am still a bit unsure about the whole "needing a separate currency" to make these apps work. NXT, XCP, Ether, etc. seem at least in part, to be methods of raising funds. There is nothing wrong with that in itself, but it seems like we are a bit inefficient here. I'm simplifying things down, but the app coin thing is starting to look like alt coins. Sure they will be 300 in the next year as well. ;-)

    Have you read the latest Darkcoin announcement?: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/development-updates-july-15th.1788/

    The new implementation scheduled for a couple weeks ahead looks amazing. I agree that cryptonote is good, but it has some problems with the size of the blockchain and there is no proof of payment, so I don't believe it can become really mainstream. I maybe wrong, but my bet and my wallet are with Darkcoin :)

  • Re: Help me pick an android phone: 1,000 ~ 10,000 LTBc

    Check Lenovo P780. It has a user replaceable 4000 mAh battery and it is 5 inches. It has the bonus of being dual sim. I read somewhere that Lenovo's Android was not great (no manufacture version is!), but you can always flash something else.
