  • Re: LTBcoin for Newbies - Under Construction

If you have an idea about something useful to add to the wiki, like adding a link to counterparty, just go for it!  More information is better.
The wiki is open and editable to all.

  • Re: DEVELOPER REQUESTED for MVP: Pay-To-Display service

I'm also interested in working on this project.  I spent a little time working on this last night.
Here is my take on the workflow:
Admin Workflow:Set asset name Set ending dateManually issue LTBCOINSEAT_X in counterpartySet the hangout invitation link (This must be done at a later time)User Workflow:User buys LTBCOINSEAT_X in counterparty wallet (outside our app)To redeem, the user visits website and enters an email addressA special one-time receiving address is created.
User sends LTBCOINSEAT_X in counterparty to unique receiving addressUser receives link via email at the designated timeBackend Service:Monitors all unique addresses created in step User 2aSends an email to each redeemed user with the hangout linkQuestions:
Is it free to create a unique counterparty receiving address just like in bitcoin?Saeed, do you want to team up to do this or would you prefer to move ahead on your own? What is your development language of choice?

  • Re: Project Needing Developers: Clone of http://helpmewrite.co/ powered by LTBcoin

    Thanks rotalumis.

I agree that the content producers should get some of the bounty.  That makes some of the other questions much easier to answer.
The idea of a voting committee approach is interesting.  I wonder if people would care enough to listen/watch/read a piece of content in order to vote on it in a timely fashion.
I feel like there might be a way to solve this with market-making.  Users buy shares of an idea based on how well they think the idea would be received.  And maybe other users can buy an interest in how well the idea meets the need.  This doesn't quite make sense to me yet, but maybe someone else can see how it would work.
    Still pondering.  :)

  • Re: Project Needing Developers: Clone of http://helpmewrite.co/ powered by LTBcoin

I've been chewing on this for a week, and I'm still struggling with some of the unanswered questions in my head.
Where do the bounties go?  (Does any go to the producer?)
What incentive does a content producer have to choose a bounty?  Any?
What incentive does a consumer have to tip?
What prevents "me too" tips from being piled on after an idea becomes popular?
What happens when a work of content partially fulfills a bounty?  In other words, what happens if an idea is only half addresses?
What happens when a work of content fulfills multiple bounties?

I'm getting the sense that ideas and content are very subjective and fluid things that don't neatly fit into discreet buckets.  This means that whether or not a piece of content satisfies a bounty is subjective and is not an all-or-nothing proposition.  Some users may feel that the bounty was satisfied and others may not.

    What do you think?

  • Re: The new LTB Platform

    @cryptonaut
I'm a professional PHP developer of 14+ years looking to get involved with the LTBcoin project.  I've written some web applications in PHP that interface with ripple wallets and bitcoin-based altcoin daemons.
I'm not a fan of monolithic web frameworks either.  I typically go with Silex for the routing framework and pull in composer packages as needed.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

  • Re: Want to Help with LTBCoin? Update the Wiki!

rotalumis said: I personally think we should consider the wiki as an extension of the LTBcoin website and have some kind of control over who is trusted to update it. The reason is that there is a lot of potential for abuse not just by trolls, competitors or whatever, but by scammers who might post misleading info to cheat people out of their LTBcoin or what not.

I wonder what Adam and the rest think.

I think our first priority is to get the information up and in a format that is easy to discover and view.  My opinion is that adding access controls to the wiki is overkill at this stage.
If the wiki is being abused, we will respond accordingly and fix it.

  • Re: Want to Help with LTBCoin? Update the Wiki!

A wiki is a common method for a self-organizing community to communicate with itself and others.  It works well when people contribute to it and use it.
    See https://en.bitcoin.it/
A wiki serves a different purpose from a blog.  Blog posts are not usually updated ongoing over time as things change.
Right now, I think the community could use a wiki.  There is a lot of good information on these forums, but it is not organized such that a newcomer could quickly learn about the key concepts behind LTBcoin.
Ultimately, a wiki is only as useful if the community updates it.  We will need some people willing to a little time into the wiki if we want it to be useful.

  • Re: Want to Help with LTBCoin? Update the Wiki!

The wiki is self-enforcing by the community.  If a troll does his troll thing, the next user comes along and uses the undo function to roll back the change.
There are more drastic measures we can take if needed, but hopefully it won't come to that.

  • Re: How many LTBcoins should there be?

    I vote 510,000,000.
I think we should target one coin to eventually be worth about $0.10.
51,000,000 coins is a market cap of $5.1 million.
510,000,000 coins is a market cap of $51 million.

In 5 years, I estimate that the LTB network economy will be closer to $51 million than $5.1 million.  Am I crazy?  A little bit.
Regardless, I propose we estimate high.  It is fun to tip 100 LTBcoin.  It is unsatisfying to tip 0.01 LTBcoin.
