  • Re: Project Needing Developers: Clone of http://helpmewrite.co/ powered by LTBcoin

I've been looking for an opportunity to get involved with LTBcoin as a developer and this project is a good fit for my skillset.
    Here is a rough blueprint:
    - The code is open source on GitHub- I can take project lead and manage the dev. community- The tech stack is PHP (Ubuntu Linux/Nginx/PHP 5.5+/MongoDB)
If this happened, would other devs pitch in and contribute?

    Any other comments?

Is the hangout for the 15th still on? That RSVP link above appears to have been deactiviated.

I'd like to contribute with some technical development.

Some stats might be nice for a start. I'm thinking perhaps an LTBcoin dashboard or an LTBcoin widget. It could show this month's distribution and the current distribution/total.

Then later on, it could show current prices on exchanges as LTBcoin starts being traded.

Eventually we could integrate with your Wordpress publishing platform and show or manage individual user account balances if that makes sense.

Ha. Just read the Proof of Tip thread. You were way ahead of me. :)

  • Re: How many total LTBcoins should there be?

I agree more coins is better. It feels cheap to tip 0.1 coins or even just 1 coin. I would like to tip 10 or even 100 coins without having to give it a second thought.

It is hard to predict the value of the network in the future. What if it is wildly successful? Will 20 million coins still be enough? If 1 coin == $1, then I don't think you issued enough coins.

I recommend playing it safe and issuing 10x MORE coins than you think. Think of each LTB coin like a penny, and not like a dollar.

So, my opinion is to think on the order of 100 million coins total.

  • Idea to Encouraging Tipping

I think something that would be valuable for the LTB network (LTB) would be to encourage tipping LTB coin (LTBc) as much as possible.

To do this, you could reward both tippers and recipients.

Give tip recipients a proportional share every month of the LTBc set aside for content publishers. The amount is proportional to that month's total tips. I believe you are also already planning to do this or something like it.

But you could also reward tippers with a bit of LTBc every month in proportion to what they tip. Think of it like a cash back or rewards program. Obviously, this would only be a small amount.

The purpose is to encourage a culture of tipping early and often. If that happens, then LTB coin and LTB the network will benefit greatly in the long run.
