Re: EARNFREEBTC.XCP - Earn BTC with your CounterWallet
@cryptomatic Just curious, would payout from viewing advertisements fluctuate in value with the price of bitcoin? A lot of faucet sites stopped payouts when the price skyrocketed since they probably owed more in payouts than they were bringing in from ads.
Its based on what advertisers are willing to pay me, rather than based on exchange rate or anything like that. When the price sky rocketed last year, I definitely saw a big decrease in how much people were willing to pay per visitor. Hasnt really correlated with general price fluctuations though.
I dont think there has been a single time where we have stopped or run out of payments :P

Re: Trackable Tokens?
@cryptonaut I dont think there is anything like this yet, but I dont see why it wouldnt be possible. sounds like a new service idea!
I'd be interested if you or @adam would be willing tho share the breakdown of fees you've needed to pay counterparty for LTBcoin distribution and other tokens. Seems to me you guys are the reigning experts of actually using counterparty assets in a meaningful way. Fees will dictate usability for many projects.
I know its .5 xpc for creating an asset, but after that the fees get fuzzy from my reading of the counterparty forum. Your real world experience would be helpful.
With counterparty (at least in its current form), you have to make a seperate transaction for every address you want to send to. Normally this costs like 0.0003 (0.0001 fee, 0.0002 used as dust payments for blockchain escrow). At that normal cost, it would cost about 0.03 just to send assets to 100 different addresses. Some of this is recoverable though.
With some programming, you can configure the miner fees paid and also the dust payment sizes used which actually hold the counterparty metadata. Our system automates this whole process. Right now I believe we are paying something like 0.00008 per address we want to distribute stuff to.
If you want to just pay out dividends though, there is a built in dividend (called "pay distribution") feature in counterparty, where you can just send it out with a single normal transaction fee. The complicated part comes in when you want to distribute tokens based off of something other than how many shares/tokens they already have (e.g a stock dividend versus our Proof of Participation rewards).

Re: Counterwallet.co displaying QR Code
I dont think there is this feature in counterwallet yet. however... just for you, I added in a link to view the QR code of your LTBcoin address! Just go to your account dashboard (click on your name in the top right) and underneath your LTBcoin address there is a link which pops up a QR code.

Re: [50k][WRITING BOUNTY]Re-write the LetsTalkbitcoin.com Data Policy, Music page, about page and show history page
@cryptonaut @lainfinity yes thats correct. Every PHP based site that uses server sessions at all (i.e, most of them) creates a session identifier cookie for the user whenever you load up the site. The session (which is actually stored on the server, not in cookie) only generally holds any information once you actually log in.
You will probably find that almost any site you visit on the web will at least give you one of those small identifier cookies.
I got it so in the cookie policy I will mention that the website uses a session cookie when the registered users log-in and a persistent cookie if the user wants to remember the password. The password is stored in the persistent cookie as an encrypted token which will expire in 30 days.
I want to make sure I got it right. Thanks
Yep, that sounds about right!

Re: Banks and Bitcoin
@angrycanuck If it makes you feel better no bank in Canada has even looked at bitcoin, and if our telecommunications is any indicator they wont allow any competition in... ever.....
oh they've looked at it, just with much disapproval. I have heard some stories about canadian banks shutting out bitcoin businesses.
I havnt had too much experience with that myself, but I did straight up get told by an RBC manager last year "you shouldnt be doing these types of transactions" when selling on localbitcoins, and they forced me to close my account with them after freezing all my money for 2 weeks.. yeah that was fun. long story short, got scammed on an e-transfer on localbitcoins. bank refused to help or acknowledge my proof and thought it was super suspicious what I was doing. idiots >_>
