@markxmayer It seems that every new post is all about getting and selling LTBc, and less about actual participation in a conversation. I propose two levels of account - new accounts and approved accounts. New accounts do not accumulate points for Proof-of-Participation. They have to earn approval by actually participating first and becoming approved. They become approved by vote (10? sponsor members) of other approved members. If an approved member sponsors "bad" new members, they lose their approval.
The incentive to too high right now for new members to join, spam, collect and sell coins. We need to remove/reduce the incentive to remove the spam.
a pretty similar idea to that has been proposed already actually. basically a reputation system, so you basically need to be upvoted etc. enough by other members (and not downvoted / flagged for spam) before your rewards start accumulating
I would say hold on to them for now. Definitely one of the biggest things missing right now is actual uses for the coin besides just getting ads/sponsor slots etc. on the auctions and trading for other coins. hang tight!
@kerneloops The incentives to spam vary greatly depending on what part of the world you happen to live in. A user in an industrialized Western country wouldn't spend much time trying to game the LTB system or spam the forums for a modest LTBc return, while someone from a 3rd world country will find a $20-30/week LTBc disbursement well worth their spamming effort.
edit: and this obviously has nothing to do with LTB itself, it applies to all walks of spam, be it forums, email, blog posts etc.
good point. so far it seems like users from russia and indonesia are the worst offenders.

I cant use LTBcoin for either of them unless I immediately convert the LTBc to BTC, so I just havnt bothered. This could change though

hmmm did you try clicking the "force balance refresh" button? Mine shows all the right balances for me including the LTBcoin I just received.. except now that you mention it, the XBTC balance its showing is off.
