Re: Counterwallet DEX no longer supports BTC trades
yep, they are working on a better way to automate it, so this is only temporary. Currently it is a huge pain in the ass because it requires both users on each end of the trade to be logged in, because a second transaction needs to be signed in order to complete the order.

Re: Proof of Participation point metric adjustments
@bitgears This is a great improvement, in this way the rewards will be more fair :)
The only thing that worries me are the "likes", now they don't have diminishing returns (if I have understood well) so they can be farmed I think.
Anyway I know you will follow the overall stats to prevent issues so it won't be a problem.
Thanks for your work!
No problem! Yeah, you are probably right about likes being farmed, but at least it is more difficult to pull off then just a bunch of page views. Will just have to keep an eye on the stats each week to see whats being exploited the most.
@jsea I Like it, was wondering how the points system works for a token society, is it the same across the board?
Actually currently you do not points for posting in a token society / private TCA board. We are playing around with the idea of letting board owners run their own participation reports / rewards program to make an incentive for people to participate in their little niche. More on that later.
This weeks stats can be found here: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-stats?details=73 (note it will show 0 LTBcoin earned for everyone, until the actual payment goes out later today). Looks like there was around 30 users who had over 1,000 page views, most of which had no posts or anything else, so obvious PoP farming accounts. Their plan has been foiled though, instead of easily taking up all the top rankings for this week, each of them only ranked like #600+ and did not earn a very large % of the LTBcoin :p

Re: Proof of Participation point metric adjustments
I changed up the basic metrics a bit based on previous conversation in this thread. More changes to come soon, but this change will pretty much kill page view farming, and also much better magic word bonuses :)
Here is the new setup:
- Article comment: 8
- Forum post: 10
- Unique page view: 3
- Magic word: 20
- Post "like" received: 1
- Active Referral: 10
Page views are now 3 points, however it has daily diminishing returns applied on it, so it takes about 15 page views per day to get 10 points, and quickly drops off from there. According to my calculations, if someone were to farm say 3,500 page views in a single day.. they would only get 26 PoP points.
the 2 extra bonus points for new registrations has been removed, so you cant just create an account and automatically get a few points.
diminishing returns has been removed from post "likes" as well as the reward bumped up to 1 point instead of 0.5 points, so having your post "liked" is no quite a bit more valuable. Keep in mind that this will be completely replaced with the weighted upvote/downvote system in the near future

Re: Bitcoin Candy Machine
@andyan @JayeK what is candy machine, mining bitcoin or what
I hope that is not a serious question?
iam serious question iam not understand about candy machine
...... >_<
back on topic, very cool. Now we just need some kind of drone that can deliver product and re-stock the machines, then we can have an army of automated vending machines with zero human labour costs :p

Re: Has CP become a mere wallet?
CounterWallet (the wallet) is not the same thing as CounterParty (the protocol). Counterparty itself is still working just fine, DEX fully functional, betting fully functional.
The wallet on the other hand.. its partly because you are an american. The betting/gambling functionality of counterwallet is disabled for anyone with an IP address from the united states, because online gambling is illegal there. If you access the site from another country or through a proxy, betting shows up again.
As for the issues with the DEX on the wallet, you can still trade XCP and any other counterparty based token, but trading pure BTC is temporarily disabled. The reason for that is because trading for example some BTC for some LTBCOIN... for technical reasons, both users need to be online at the same time in order to finalize the trade, because it requires an extra transaction to be created and signed. They do not control your private keys, so the only way for that extra transaction to be made is if you are logged in. People were confused and complained about this constantly, so they disabled BTC trading until they can figure out a better way to automate it. You can still trade LTBCOIN for XCP or other tokens though, and without needing to stay logged in.
And for the "Quick Buy" options, those are ran by a third party company called Vennd which has decided to disable them until they figure out some legal stuff.
