As the son of a local farmer and as a student of economics at the University of Mississippi, I have somehow been captured by Bitcoin and its technology. Although I have no background in computer science nor any high-level understanding of the protocol itself, I do realize that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are undeniably captivating. And so, more than anything, I am here to learn, to experiment, and to participate in what seems to be history in the making. Cheers!

Re: I think you need more Mods here
Hi page,
I'm actually not a mod, just always online on LTB, but if more mods are necessary I could possibly help out. Just out of curiosity, what are those threads?

Re: Questions/Topics for todays session (Andreas/JeffreyTucker/Adam)
Considering that Mr. Tucker is an economist and I myself am a student of economics, I would be interested in a detailed discussion about how Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance will affect current national and international economies.
For example, last semester (Spring 2014), I gave a presentation on Bitcoin and although I was met with plenty of intrigued comments and questions concerning things I could actually answer, I was also met with questions I couldn't even begin to answer.
These questions included things like:
1) In a world where Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies are the backbone of economies, how would interest rates be set or how would we measure economies based on the current metrics? Would new metrics need to be devised?
2) Would national currencies still exist or would they eventually be replaced by digitized, crypto certificate receipts backed by a "gold standard" cryptocurrency like Bitcoin?
3) Do you believe that the use of cryptocurrencies would make it easier or harder to measure economies on the basis of consumption, etc? With regards to necessary privacy measures, like transaction mixing, would crypto still provide a better alternative to the current fiat system?
I know this is a ridiculously long and probably complex post, but I can't help but to try to get an economist's viewpoint of cryptocurrencies and their potential impact. So thank you so much, Mr. Tucker! I'm a huge fan and I look forward to just about any talk you give regarding Bitcoin and such. :D

Re: LTBcoin Promotion Pool
@cryptochief If it is worth noting, I run this very minor Facebook page called Final Bit, that acts as a sort of launchpad for my local consulting service and as a news aggregate. I typically post and/or discuss LTB podcasts and of course, I posted the most recent one concerning LTBcoin. Just trying to get the word out, even though I don't have much of a following right now.
I'd prefer to stay anonymous so I will not like you on facebook, but I will definitely keep lurking around for updates. :)
Thanks! I understand the cause for anonymity and wish I could be more anonymous myself. It's just a little hard to not be open with your identity when you're trying to build something people might some day come to for information and help. Hopefully one day trust will be distributed without knowing people's identities.

Re: What is the craziest un-true rumor you've heard about bitcoin?
First of all, I had this Money and Banking class at the beginning of the summer and was surprised that we spent a good 15-30 mins discussing the characteristics of Bitcoin in regards to traditional economic definitions of money. Of course, I was pretty excited and tried to bring an informed dialogue to the conversation, but there was this guy behind me making definitely uninformed comments about it. More or less, he was claiming that the person who invented Bitcoin also created the Silk Road and that they were all in jail and total "losers". Lol

Re: When to buy LTBcoin?
I agree with the guys above. You should also make sure you're participating in the community by listening to the podcasts, commenting, and posting so that you can earn some for "free" while you're deciding what to do about a real investment.

Re: If your computer crashed now, how many coins would you loose?
Hopefully none! Paper wallets, wallet backups, multisig for BTC, etc. I've had a few bad experiences where I lost miscellaneous amounts of odd cryptocurrencies I was more or less collecting because my HDD crashed. I've learned to guard any cryptocurrency I have with encrypted backups uploaded to multiple locations and on external drives.

Re: THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR LTBCOIN
LTBCOIN is really going to take off when we can easily tip the content creators and other users. I'm really anxious to start tipping solely with LTBCOIN since it will keep the token circulating through the community :)

Re: LTBCOIN User Balance
Pretty cool I must say! It's this kind of "innovation out of necessity" that makes me glad to be part of the cryptocurrency community.
