Predict When McDonald's Will Accept Bitcoin as a form of Payment?

For the purpose of this question I am treating all McDonald's's franchises as one singular corporate entity. So I suppose I mean when will it be "system wide" and not just a few select franchise locations that are ahead of the curve.

  God I hope so. I could use a Big Mac right now.

  If you don't mind the slightly indirect route, I'm guessing not too long. Gyft sells online gift cards for many restaurants - including Burger King. McDonald's can't be far behind.

  Personally, I now avoid all fast food like the plague, but to each their own. I do know the lure of the Big Mac, I'm just immune to it now.

  I've been thinking about the BK Gyft card but also heard some horror stories about trying to use it in stores. I really want to do it but I know my local BK is pretty much staffed by idiots.

  I think that is the biggest issue you will have with any fast food chain accepting bitcoin. I can see it now...

  I think we will need some super simple to use PoS (point of sale) hardware for bitcoin on the market before this will happen.

  Completely agreed and it would be awesome if someone in that space would just start adding Bitcoin to the checkout system. I can think of several great iPad based PoS systems that could do this with some software updates from the developers.
