What is the benefit of verifying an address? Is it just a protective measure against future incidents?

Honestly, I have no idea. I just wanted to try it out. Why not right? :)

Same issue here. I've tried to copy the message straight from the source, I've tried upper and lowercase variants both with and without spaces.
I assume this functionality simply isnt' functional yet.
Can you confirm @cryptonaut?

I also get "Invalid" when I try to sign a message in the LTB Address Manager. I'm using Counterwallet.co's message signing feature, in case that's at all relevant.

Hey guys sorry I should have put a note on there, currently there is an issue with how counterwallet signs messages which is making them invalid (should be fixed pretty soon). Signing messages from other wallets (e.g bitcoin-qt or electrum) appears to work fine.

I was able to simply verify by sending .0001btc to the verify address, very fast and gets around the signing issue.

Just a shot in a dark, but is this verification feature for a possible future implementation of Token-Controlled Viewpoint?

Most likely, as without it TCV would be easy to game.

nice guess. That's exactly what we will be using it for.
